Anthony bag, or are there better alternatives?

I want a neutral, cross body bag, big enough for a book, small purse & phone, looking for something good quality which will last, and happy to pay for that. I like the look of the Anthony messenger bag, but wondered if there’s anything else I should be considering?

I had one for years and loved it. Only downside for me was that it banged against my leg in a way that other bags haven’t as it’s quite long. But it did fit a decent amount in.

I prefer the new ones with the leather strap, not webbing.
