Cardigan nipped in at waist, flared over hips

I used to have a useful navy cardigan which was a bit shorter than a knee length dress, nipped in at the waist and flared slightly over the hips. It was normal at the front - no big waterfall folds across the chest. It was flattering to wear with knee length dresses.

I haven't found anything similar since it wore out. Has anyone seen a cardigan like this?

The ones with big waterfall folds across the chest don't suit me.

I don't unfortunately. It was definitely a cardigan, suitable for wearing all day inside.

My mum has one like this, from East years ago. Similar to a waterfall cardigan but much more flattering.

I will follow with interest as I failed to find something like this last year!

Search "knitted jacket" which seems to be the ridiculous go-to term for cardigan this season.

Ideally would have three quarter length sleeves as I have short arms, but I may be asking for the moon on a stick there!

The Karen Milen one is a bit short - I'd ideally want the flared bit to be longer.

Not sure how tall you are OP but I have this one and it’s down to my knees but I’m only 5ft tall. Doesn’t look it in the photo but it is nipped in at the waist slightly.

I love that Karen Millen one but I really should not be buying any clothes at the moment so ... I'm going to keep the link open and if I still want it after a good night's sleep and a bit of thinking then I'll buy it.

I had one once - grey M&S cashmere from a charity shop - it had a lovely shape. Longish, with a waist. Unfortunately the colour never really suited me so I didn't keep it long.

I'd also love to find similar again.

@TimelyIntervention I had a fantastic cardigan like this from East too. I wore it out…
It was a fine knit navy v neck with buttons down the front. It was almost like a fit and flare dress. People commented on how good I looked in it every time I wore it.

Have been quietly looking for a replacement for years
