Would this be okay for Autumn christening?

Our LO is due to be christened at end of October and I'm struggling to know what to wear. Weather is likely to be miserable. I was thinking a satin midi skirt with same tone jumper? Is that dressy enough? Maybe emerald or burgundy in colour. Similar to this style: https://www.sosandar.com/champagne-gold-pleated-satin-midi-skirt?glCountry=GB&glCurrency=GBP&gadsource=1&gbraid=0AAAAADQU86BafjWMi6winSRz5uKNhu1qu&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIILeB8uzsiAMV5bZoCR0VDQFFEAQYByABEgJpYfDBwE#241=237&fooc=2425&fok=3114678a4f01f0c641f5a49de977a49b&foo_s=gplauk

Opinions please! I'm about 5'4 with a bit of a mum tum, size 12/14.

That sounds perfect.

That’s absolutely fine. Very nice.
You’ll likely all have your coats on anyway though!

dorotheasc · 01/10/2024 11:31

Thanks both. That's very true, we'll all be layered up I'm sure!

That sounds perfect, a classy choice. Have you seen this White Company two in one option? www.thewhitecompany.com/uk/Knit-and-Washed-Satin-Dress/p/A12630?swatch=Navy

Yes, I think that would be completely appropriate. Think about shoes though - if you're outside at all you might struggle with the sort of heeled pumps that would work best. If it's just a quick dash from the car to the church and then home/pub/venue, no problem.

OopsieeDaisy · 01/10/2024 14:42

That looks gorgeous! Very classy and definitely dressy enough.

dorotheasc · 01/10/2024 16:43

Thank you @Saucisses, I'll have a look.
Thanks all! I was starting to panic with no idea but now just to find what I want Hmm

I'd stick to the champagne colour if it suits you, it's lovely

Thank you, I agree the colour looks lovely on the model! I'm blonde with fair skin so didn't know if I'd look a bit washed out. And thought the darker colours may be a bit more flattering with the tum? I'm probably going to order though and see what the fit is like etc.

That’s a lovely outfit. A patterned scarf in darker or contrasting tones, perhaps? It would move the eye from your tummy to your face. I am a big scarf fan.

That could well be an option, thank you for the suggestion x
