Non-floral wedding guest dress for 36yo?

Just turned 36 and going to a wedding in Northumberland at the end of October. It's a smart casual thing - church ceremony and a cèilidh after. Really struggling with dresses though. They all seem to be corporate-looking office type dresses, or styles for much older women.

I'd prefer something mini or midi in length, with sleeves, and no prints/floral. I'm a size 10, pear-shaped, so small chest and more generous hips and thighs.

I've tried a couple of Nobody's Child dresses but they all seem to have balloon sleeves that are HUGE! Like parachutes. Any suggestions really appreciated!

Try club L london. I got a nice long sleeve evening gown from there in January for a wedding.

I am the same age as you nearly and went to a friends wedding wearing this. There were loads of beautiful clothes on the same website and I found some pretty good discounts too

Definitely go midi as a max for dancing, how about something like this:

With full length sleeves it's slim pickings though

Few more, because I can’t think of many things lovelier to dress for than a winter wedding in Northumberland.

YBD. Definitely not floral

The first one is nice but you can a very similar style much cheaper than that, which is overpriced, imo.

Love the Ayana one

I tried the black version of this on today. It's fabulous- it moves beautifully.. The red would look great birling round in an eightsome reel or a strip the willow.

Saw this, maybe worth adding:

Stine Goya Flowers but not ‘floral’. Would look beautiful at a wedding.

Looks as if it belongs in a circus!

If it's a ceilidh and you intend to dance then take flat shoes or trainers to change into, and get something with a decent length skirt of you'll be flashing your pants when you get swung around the room! It also tends to get really hot so i'd avoid anything too warm and use a jacket or cardigan that you can take off.
