It's at a country hotel, meal and dancing type of thing.

It's a fine knit so and dark green which you can't really see in the pic but I thought might try and dress down a bit? Not sure how to do that tho??

It's gorgeous, I wouldn't dress it down though

StarlightLady · 27/09/2024 17:25

It’s lovely. Just make sure your feet are clear of the hem when dancing and that you can negotiate stairs without too much difficulty.

mylittledoggie · 27/09/2024 17:30

Any tips on how you would style? Hair up or down? (I have very long hair)

Ooh, it's gorgeous and you already look amazing in it.

I'd blow dry your hair big and bouncy and then wear it up in a high, swooshy pony tail. Use your own hair to cover the ponytail band.

I'd wear gold sling backs, gold cloth, gold 'drop' earrings and a gold clutch.

mylittledoggie · 27/09/2024 17:39

I thought about a high pony. I'll probably dance a lot and hair down I'll end up a sweaty mess! Thanks will have a look for some gold!

As it's dark green I also think gold shoes (sling backs would look good) and either some sparkly jewellery or maybe chunky gold jewellery. Please don't dress it down, that dress and you wearing it are FABULOUS, glam it up as much as possible! You look absolutely gorgeous in it and I think it would fit the occasion perfectly. As for your hair I think an updo would be lovely so you can see your back as that's a gorgeous feature of the dress.

Where's it from OP?

mylittledoggie · 27/09/2024 17:52

It's from Reiss. I've been eyeing it up for a while but it's gone into clearance so I thought better get it quick!

It's beautiful and so are you

I'd suggest long evening gloves, hair up and 'important' earring. Something gold dangling around your neck.

Have a photo taken 'dressed up' and treasure it. These are the days of your life

SprigatitoYouAndIKnow · 28/09/2024 09:09

Why would you dress it down? You are going to a fancy party, so be fabulous! Dress it up with a blingy necklace and agree with pp that gold shoes would go well. Perhaps a soft pashmina for if it gets cold.

mylittledoggie · 28/09/2024 17:31

Thanks everyone l get on the hunt for some accessories! I'm normally quite a casual / sporty kind of person which I why I thought maybe dress down but I guess I could be sparkly for the evening!

Absolutely stunning!

Agree that gold accessories are the way to go. I'd keep it fairly simple though. Gold chunky earrings and a simple wrist cuff.

mylittledoggie · 28/09/2024 19:43

Oh I love those!

Commenting as a man aged 40, that looks great. Definitely a head turner. Hair down, curled, would top it off I'd say.
