Early 40s with clogged skin and a lot of big spots, v fed up, use good non comodogenic skin care no make up etc but has anyone any advice using either of these for adult acne? Always had some form of it tbh. Except when had just given birth oddly.

I use Tret from Dermatica. It’s the only thing that’s kept mine at bay long term. (I’ve had it since my early 20’s due to PCOS). That said, I’ve not tried Retinol so maybe I’m not the best at the advice!

I started using retinol a few years ago for anti aging benefits and after a few months I realised I wasn’t getting spots all around my chin and mouth anymore. My skin has been almost completely clear since then with regular use of it and when I’ve had the odd break for about two weeks I start to get a couple of spots again.

My advice is to go to the GP, it's a medical issue. They'll prescribe you something like Limecycline to tackle the acne from the inside.

You could try Dermatica for their acne treatment. For 30 years I was treated for acne but turns out I have/had rosacea, with constant pustules/spots on my chin area and redness.
Since using Dermatica you would not know that I have rosacea as my skin has changed so much.
