I've bought some from Vinted.

Shall I put in washer in a short wash?

Oh says I'm vile for buying 2nd hand shoes - but the new are £160!!!

If you use a sheepskin detergent, you should get away with it. I’ve washed a Ted baker handbag and some sheepskin slippers in the washing machine without any ill effects but it must be sheepskin wash not wool detergent. I use one made for my horse’s sheepskin numnahs 😁

But the advice on the Birkenstocks website is very clear about not emersing any of their shoes in water completely. It'll affect the leather.

I'd just sponge clean the inside with a tiny bit of wool detergent in lukewarm water.

I wouldn't OP.

The cork will absorb water and swell. Then they will be useless as the cork will crumble.

I think you will need to wipe them rather than wash.

I did this with mine after digging them out of summer storage. I promise it works!
