LV Neverfull in epi leather - is it a GOOD bag?

I'm considering the LV Neverfull in leather as a mega treat to myself after a really difficult couple of years. It won't make everything better, but I've saved up for it and I'll get a little buzz from having a shiny new "thing" Grin

Is it a good bag, though? Are the handles strong? Will the leather start wearing away on the corners quickly like they did on my Bayswater tote? Will the colour fade?

I think I'm going for the one pictured - no shouty branding! And if I'm going to pay a shocking amount for a handbag, it definitely needs to be leather Blush

Have a look at these. Ethical and brilliant too, I've got one which looks similar to your picture and won't wear away as they're made from decommissioned fire hoses (and they look great)

i have the brown stamped version and it has probably been my most used bag ever. I take it on holidays (including to the beach) and use it almost daily to work and it’s crammed with laptop, work files, make up bag etc etc. The handles are super durable although mine is now showing a little wear but still lovely. Super hard wearing so a definite yes from me!

RedPandaFluff · 21/09/2024 14:48

Those are great, @Notajogger - I actually really like the weekender bag, not so much the totes though.

Recycled fire hoses . . . who knew?!

@Adrywhiteplease that's music to my ears - I would be so annoyed with myself for buying an expensive label if it turned out to be crappy quality. The handles look quite slim so I was worried about what weight it's capable of carrying - sounds like laptop etc. will be fine Grin

Firehoses- they toxic? Like car tyres?

anyhow the neverfull is a fantastic bag! Thin straps but very hardy. Enjoy your treat!

Bought one for my daughter about 10 years ago when she finished uni.
She still uses it all the time...work, beach and gym.
My only regret...didn't buy one for myself. They've doubled in price now and am still thinking of buying one. Do check out LV Addicted UK on FB if you don't mind second hand. They also come up on Vinted and you can get them authenticated.

I don’t have a Neverfull but have two other LV bags in pale epi leathers and they are very durable. Also have a purse and use it constantly and it’s like new. I’m not precious with my bags either. I hope you enjoy using your new bag and hope you have a better time going forward.

which colour are you thinking of?

TheWordWomanIsTaken · 22/09/2024 08:59

This is a bag on my hit list as well. Bit gutted I didn't buy it years ago but went through a phase when I wouldn't touch LV because of the fakes.
I didn't think it was available in epi any longer?

TheWordWomanIsTaken · 22/09/2024 09:01

Oh! Looks like they do - have they reintroduced it as I'm pretty sure it hasn't been on their website for a while?

Isabelle70 · 22/09/2024 11:18

I have a Neverful in the damier azure canvas print as my summer work bag. Absolutely perfect as I can chuck everything in and get the straps over a jacket etc.
In the winter I have a LV in empriente leather, still bomb proof and looks smart.
I would get emptiente or epi leather.
Enjoy your new bag 😄

AesopsMables · 22/09/2024 17:59

I have this in the pale taupe colour. Has it for 3 yrs and use mainly for travel and work in Spring/summer months. It's a versatile and hard wearing bag.
Highly recommend you invest in a felt insert that gives additional pockets/sections as this not only helps organise but also keeps the shape

PeggyMitchellsCameo · 22/09/2024 18:11

Bought mine 15 years ago and it’s still going strong. Its strong and durable.
I know there are lots of copies around but if you want one, treat yourself.
Enjoy!

PeggyMitchellsCameo · 22/09/2024 18:12

Also agree with @AesopsMables about buying a felt insert to store your bits. I got my last one from Etsy!

RedPandaFluff · 22/09/2024 20:22

This is great, no major issues from what I'm reading! Yes, I think they reintroduced epi leather, I love the orangey-brown one. I'd buy the taupe empreinte but my friend has it and we meet up quite often Grin

I'm glad they're durable - gives me a bit of confidence that I'm not being a total label-led fool! Thanks, everyone.

Oh and I'll definitely buy an organiser/felt liner!

I have this bag in the damier with baby pink lining. Love it although the lining is a pain in the backside to keep clean. I reckon go with a darker interior. Otherwise it’s a great bag and so versatile! Enjoy your treat OP
