winter footwear for wide leg jeans?

summer I've been wearing pointed flats , trainers and birkenstocks with wide leg jeans... what is the best winter/wet weather option?

Wide leg jeans are not compatible with wet weather IMO (you get a soaked to the knees effect as they mop up all the rain). Cold weather is ok but you’ll want knee length socks underneath to combat the draughtiness.

I'm loving wide legs, and not ready to give them up!
Wondering about some platform docs to keep my hems dry...

I've got some slightly cropped wide leg jeans that I've been wearing with trainers and am looking forward to wearing with lace up ankle boots when it gets a bit colder. Agree that full length wide legs are no fun in winter - flashbacks to spending my student days soaked up to the knees

Tried this in c1997. (Not docs but other platform boots). It only works dryness wise if the jeans end well above the ground which IMO looks odd with platforms.
