Hi there so I don’t have terrible teeth I had braces their pretty straight bite isn’t the best though still.
Anyway their off colour and I have quite small teeth the bottom have developed a small gap which wasn’t there before.
I always wanted slightly bigger teeth they removed my canines when I had braces so I feel like that could be why I have a bit of a weird full smile.
My teeth are yellow but they aren’t white I’ve saved enough to have composite at £275 per tooth I have ti have cleaning on top which is £50.
This has been over the phone I have to see them in person in two weeks but looking online it says I may need whitening first ?
I will upload my teeth to see if they need whitening. I don’t like the dentist but want this done so much and they have agreed to only go two teeth at a time due to anxiety.
Can anyone tell me how long it takes to do the composite please ?

Don't do it!! They usually look terrible, they are often the wrong shape, too square and they look dry in your mouth, don't sit flush with your gums
Each one in my area is about £200, guaranteed for a year I think ( might be 2 years)
I've got one it's crap, slightly too short, slightly too square, and has a chip in in already ( less than six months but so far my orthodontist has either not noticed it when checking it it too busy to book with)

I had six of these and they were fantastic, very natural, no filing down of teeth and not at all like Turkey teeth. However, they do wear down and thin, now after 11 years one or two need redoing. The guy I used is 400 a tooth though, so quite a bit more. I think I paid 200-250 each last time.

I've got no experience of composites but I'm in the middle of using Enlighten whitening and when I was going through options before I settled on this treatment with my dentist she did say that if I were to have composites I'd need whitening first, so definitely worth getting that checked.

My composites don’t look good 10 years later although they were lovely initially. They are stained and there is a brown line where the join line has stained badly. To redo would mean taking far more of the natural tooth away.

Before is red lipstick and after is obvs the other one.

I just had my two front teeth done to close the diastema. My dentist is fabulous and only charged me the cost of two fillings, which are £260 each at my practice.

Incredible result and has given me so much more confidence, I smile with my teeth now, allllll the time.

I didn’t have to pay for any cleaning as I’m very fortunate that my natural teeth are a B1 despite coffee and vaping, but I do look after them fastidiously.

Here's my after(1st) and before. As you can see I have awful, undersized and happy teeth- so it's tricky to find any pics where I smile and show my gumminess, too paranoid! However, I think they're much better afterwards.

Wow thanks ladies here’s my teeth like they aren’t terrible teeth but they aren’t how I want their small. I would look better with teeth slightly longer I think.
Hopefully I’m ok to have it done. How long does the process take when they’re actually doing it please per tooth ?

Edited

These look really good and natural I hate turkey teeth I just want them to look nicer not the false look. Turkey teeth always look wide like little blocks I’ve got a small face so would look ridiculous.
thanks for showing me and your so lucky to have white teeth I think mine were last that white when I was 20 lol
I don’t even drink coffee or wine or smoke so I don’t know why their ivory 🤣

Massive improvement I think they look great and natural!

I will need them whitening I think anyway maybe I will like them with whitening and won’t need the composites? Going to see what they say I’ve got a gap in my bottom front teeth though since I’ve got older they have shifted which I dislike.

Sorry to hear this experience do you think it’s technique or bad luck ? Does it feel weird in your mouth? I hate my teeth but could never sit through implants or anything invasive I’m an anxious person.

@Everchanging24 I wish I hadn't, I'm aware of it, it doesn't feel like my tooth, looks very flat and weird, colour match is the only thing that's not crap. I hate it if I catch it, with my finger or a pen ( you know when you are writing &, you put the pen on your mouth not really thinking) bleurgh

Thistooshallpass24 · 11/09/2024 23:41

Oh just remembered a friend had one & its weird under blacklight ( bars nightclubs) the pics are Google not my friend!

Your teeth look nice - rather than go straight down the bonding route, could you try to get them whitened and see how you feel then?

With regards to the gap, Invisalign might make a difference - you could ask another dentist if you don't like your current one? It seems a shame to cover up otherwise healthy and straight teeth with bonding and it would be a difficult process to go through if you're anxious.

Thistooshallpass24 · 12/09/2024 09:31

Your teeth look completely normal, I think now we see it as a "fault" unless every part of us exactly like we see in the media ( edited Photoshop staged)
I love slightly wonky teeth, smile lines, scars from when you fell over as a child and so on. I think perfect is weird, if you look closely your face isn't a perfect match, both sides have small differences.
In my eyes "imperfections" make you, you iyswim
