Autumn wedding guest outfit - jumpsuit?

Hello,

I am going to a wedding in a few weeks and not even considered what to wear! If anyone can help I’d massively appreciate it.

I’ve put on a few perimenopausal pounds recently so I’m not feeling my absolute best. I’m a pear shaped 12-14, mid 40s. I do not like my legs at all! Usually I wear maxi dresses for summer weddings, but I feel like this time of year a long dress might feel either too formal or too floaty. But I wouldn’t feel great in a short dress so I’m thinking jumpsuit.

if anyone has seen any lovely wide leg jumpsuits that are a bit special, please post links!

I don’t mind plain or printed, I’m quite flexible with colours, although prefer not black for a wedding or anything too dark. I like green and I like pink. Sleeves are good- I don’t love my arms but I think I can handle sleeveless although perhaps not spaghetti straps 😬

I’ve seen this and I like a lot:

Budget up to around £100 ish.

Thank you!!!

This sounds possible but probably too summery. Might be ok with a jacket:

Gather & See

But really it might be better to conquer your dislike of your own legs - or buy some stylish knee high boots and wear a dress.

The Abercrombie one is lovely but I think that fabric could be unforgiving. They all come up very small if you haven't bought anything from there before.

Knee high boots do not belong at a wedding.

Why ever not? Grin

I mean, you could ban them at your wedding but I’d welcome all well dressed people at mine!

Dress and knee high boots would be perfect.

That jumpsuit is wrong on so many levels for a pear shaped size 14 and a wedding.

Thanks for the tip re sizing. I might order it to have a look. I’ll go large!

I know that shape works well on me. I have small waist and boobs so like to be fitted at the top and then have something that skims over my arse and thighs!

I don’t dislike the knee high boots and dress combo for others, but just don’t feel it’s me. I don’t want to highlight my chubby knees!

The bride and groom aren’t massively conventional, and I think it is going to be a small, anything-goes type of do.

OK. Order it then! You know what you like and what type of wedding it is better than we do.

Thank you. This is nice but feels more ‘holiday’ than ‘wedding’ for me.

Would love any other suggestions tho 🙏

If you're likely to be drinking, a jumpsuit is a pain in the arse. A co-ord would be better.

Very true. I shall look into that, good idea, thanks!

I’m now thinking the A&F pink jumpsuit might be a bit disco for a wedding. I’ve seen a couple of dresses on ASOS by Hope and Ivy which might do the trick but will investigate co-ords too.
