Dresses/outfits for a formal but not totally formal work event

I have a work event coming up soon and have absolutely no clue what to wear - I've been work from home so long now, I feel really out of it all fashion wise.

It's not an incredibly formal event, think more along the lines of charity or academia than high flying City business type industry, and the demographic does tend to skew a bit younger overall. I don't need to look super fashionable, but want to avoid looking dowdy and frumpy if possible!

I'm 5"9, size 16/18, with a large chest that can make some outfits difficult, budget would be £100 per item maximum. Any suggestions, links or ideas of things to look for?

Look at Scamp and Dude I've had a fair few dresses from there that I think fit the bill. I especially like the denim dresses as you can dress them up or down.

@ranoutofquinoaandprosecco Thank you, I thought they only did leopard print - just ordered a few denim dresses to try!
