I need new skinny jeans - but I think Gap have redesigned theirs ...

I bought a pair of skinny jeans from them about 2 months ago, they fit really well, so I thought right well I'll get a few more pairs ...

and they've blardy redesigned them as jodhpurs (or so it seems) - baggy on thighs and stopping circulation on calves.

Where else can I get good ones at about £40/£50, pretty please.

TIA

Topshop have some great ones which are really comfortable and forgiving so no muffintop lol.

winebeforepearls · 19/04/2008 15:38

aha, yes no muffin-top would be good. Are they high-waisted?

I think topshop have a few styles of the skinnies....
Also, I bought some nice ones from French Connection last year, but think they might be more around the £50-60 mark, can't quite remember....

grouphug · 19/04/2008 15:45

No they are not high waisted. They are lovely and look summery with a light colour to them. They have taken a size off me. I have bigger thighs than I should in relation to the rest of me, but in these they look good, or it could be their magic mirrors someone mentioned to me before...oh god maybe I look hideous.

grouphug · 19/04/2008 15:48

Orangina you must have long legs, I always find the jeans in there are 32/33 leg and always too long. The jeans start at about £70 in there! Unfortunatley my SMP doesn't stretch as far as the jeans do lol.

i've got some nice ones from uniqlo, although they are rather low-rise. my friend says good things of miss selfridge jeans.

winebeforepearls · 19/04/2008 17:53

thank you everyone. Fishie, I'm probably too old to be allowed into Miss S

lilymolly · 19/04/2008 17:58

I want some new ones too, but I find the muffin top hangs over

do anywhere do highwasited ones? and NOT hipster style?

winebeforepearls · 19/04/2008 18:02

Psychomum, I was so cross -- and I knew I couldn't have lost weight on thighs (as if) and gained on calves (haven't been climbing any mountains lately) so knew it was the bustards in their design dept. trying it on.

lilymolly, highwaisted is all the rage atm dontch know, so most high street shops have a version. I still have childhood images of my mum wearing them, so can't face it myself.

winebeforepearls.....

I have been bought some by DH last year for my birthday which I loved....great fit and looked fab (I love gap jeans normally as their 'long and lean' ones normally are the best looking jeans on me out of all jeans that I wear, and I am jean freak so have lots of experiance).

problem is, I have lost tons of weight, (1.5st, which sounds good but tis not weight I am trying to lose.....tis stress thro car accident)...anyhoo.....have dropped from a sz 10 to a sz 6/8 and all my jeans fall off so am slowly building up my supply again. the previous GAP skinny jans I had are now flames (she has had her beady eye on them since I got them), and I wanted more.....so off to GAP I went....

only to find that they now look hidious, and like you, they are seriously tight on my calves and hopelessly baggy arounf thighs and bum! I admit I thought it me, but others are saying it, and now here too, so can do a happy dance and stop feeling as tho I am the odd one....

oh, and go buy jeans again!

Heathcliffscathy · 19/04/2008 18:47
