Makeup suggestions for late 40s skin

I'm in my late 40s and I've never been good at makeup, but I want to (finally!) start making more of an effort. I've got my basic skincare routine sorted, but makeup needs more focus (I'm basically mascara and go at the moment).
I'm definitely about the natural look and the simpler the better just to avoid adding a lot of time to my morning routine. What are your top tips for favourite products?

Any tips for getting the best out of my skin/appearance with makeup also appreciated! I think I pretty much look my age, no major skin concerns other than prone to a bit of dryness and dark circles.

I'm 40s and don't wear much makeup, but I do love erborian bb cream to smooth things out a bit. Eyebrow pencil to define, mascara and a smudge of Ruby woo matte lipstick or a pink.

What sort of look were you after?

Edit: ah you were asking about skincare as well - I like a serum at night, spf moisturiser in the day, varies with cleanser either Nuxe/inika micellar or Omorizcova Moor cleanser. Fairly low maintenence! But a b complex supplement

I wouldn't want to wear a lot either, so really quite a natural look would suit me. I literally wear mascara and maybe dab a bit of concealer on a spot if I get one... I'd like to wear maybe a little eyeshadow, use a decent concealer and something to smooth out my complexion so maybe a foundation? I'm a bit clueless on what products I need, it's really some bits to just even everything out, hide the dark circles and lines a bit, and highlight my eyes etc. Does that make sense?

Edit: I can see you added some bits to your post after I replied - thank you! That's all really helpful 😊

Yes - I stopped wearing concealer when I started wearing the erborian bb, it's very lightweight but evens things out! What can I say, I'm an enthusiast.

I've never heard of it - am off to google, thank you!!
