Didn’t know how to title this!
Having been overweight my entire life, I’m now in the process of losing a lot of weight. I’ve gone from a size 26/28 to a current size 18 (or occasionally a 16 or a 20 depending on the item/brand).
My default has always been plus size shops or ranges. I’m still losing weight and hope to get down to about a 14 eventually so not really investing in clothes at the moment, more a case of trying to stay stocked with essentials that can bring me through outfits for work (corporate office setting), to home, and going out.
My issue is probably a little bit psychological as I know that I don’t always have to default to extended sizes now as many ranges carry up to an 18 or higher, but I just can’t wean myself away from sticking with the dedicated plus size offerings and I’m limited my options.
I’m 5’ 10”, big chest (38E) and quite “curvy” in the sense that I’m fairly narrow across my waist but have a big belly and hips. 32” legs but most of my height is in my torso so often struggle to find tops that sufficiently cover my tummy area, or that have some decent length in the arms.
I’ve been buying from Yours Clothing (their clothes run really big so I’ll usually get a 16 or even occasionally a 14 which makes it really hard to know what size to go for from other brands), and also Next quite a bit (especially the Friends Like These range which isn’t specifically plus size but a lot of their items go from sizes 8-20) but would love to hear about some other brands I should be looking at.
I think my issue here is that a lot of brands go to a size 18 and no higher so if I shop there, while size 18 will typically fit me, depending on the range it may not. I’d love an idea of brands that go up to maybe a 20 so I have plenty of options.
