Hair straighteners recommendations

I was going to get the Dyson cordless ones but they are £300 and I have no idea how good they are. Seems a bit extreme!
Any recommendations of those or others before I go and spend £££?

I got my ghds when I was 21 and they're still going strong. I'm 34 now! So worth the money.

I treated myself to some Cloud 9's a couple of years ago and I like them. Bought daughter Cloud 9 Pro's last year for Christmas and she loves them

I have the Dyson cordless

I used to have wide GHD's that were old as the hills

GHDS piss all over the Dyson. I hate it, for the price anyway. Battery is shit; it's heavy. I have quite straight hair anyway, but when I straighten for that refined look it just doesn't last
It curls it nicely tho I will say as a positive
They were a gift so luckily don't feel as gutted as I would if I'd have bought them.

When they die I think il get cloud 9s heard great things

I was an avid GHD user for years until I found the more affordable (but better, in my opinion) Babylis Pro Advanced Ceramic straighteners. They're also the ones my hairdresser uses. I tried the cordless Dyson one and thought it was awful: heavy, poor battery and it snagged my hair, causing frizz rather than sleekness.

Same here, my ghds are still going on after about 12 years. Love them.

Right well now I am torn between GHD and Cloud 9. Both have similar review, similar price and wide plate options which I am considering since I have such thick hair and little patience...

I also have thick hair, and I love my Cloud Nine straighteners, AND their customer service is superb.

I did a lot of research when I replaced my very very old GHDs a couple of years ago and struggled between cloud 9 and GHDs. In the end I went for GHD platinums and have been really pleased.

Summerishere123 · 06/09/2024 20:14

Thank all! Bought the cloud 9!
