I actually won the £250 Plumo voucher competition! I've never won anything in my life (please don't ruin it and tell me everyone won one 🙏) I'd literally just returned the 'scarlet' Jack jumper that same morning - I love a Jack jumper but it was not scarlet IMO, more maroon. I did really like it and it did suit me, but I was really expecting a brighter red and for £149, it's got to be exactly right! Obviously now the voucher is burning a hole in my inbox - do I buy back the nice but not scarlet jumper and some other stuff I like but could live without? It's technically free, so... Or do I wait? The voucher is valid for two years... writing it all down I think I know what the answer is, but thanks in advance if anyone can be bothered to reply 🙏

I would hold off. If the jumper had been right but felt like a frivolous purchase then it would make sense to re-buy it, but the colour won’t become the colour you want it to be just because it’s bought with a voucher.

Although the voucher would be burning a hole in my inbox too and I’d want to spend it immediately. Congratulations on your win!

You do not need a £149 jumper that you didn't like enough to keep when it was 'your own money'.
I'd have no trouble with the voucher but in your position I would keep an eye on the site. They'll have new stock before long.

Lucky you. Well done.

Gosh, is there nothing else you want from there right now?

Not the

Grey kilt

or the

Tweed cardigan

or the far from ordinary

Ordinary jeans

Nor any of the things that would require the same amount again from your own purse?

Sleepthief · 06/09/2024 08:14

@BangingOn and @KeepBritainTidy thank you for your words of wisdom. You are absolutely right! I will hold off for now.

@BlanklyMyDear getting me to spend the same amount again is probably the purpose of the voucher 😂

I'm so envious. So many lovely things to choose from. My top two items would push me over the voucher value. I could easily spend £2500.

No to the jeans (got too many already), no to the kilt (got a few already), no to the cardigan (already have several cardigans) but I like them very much.

BeansMeansBeans · 06/09/2024 08:59

What about one of their lovely coats? ARGH, I'm so jealous!!!!

Cantonet · 06/09/2024 10:06

Those 'ordinary' jeans would have to be Extraordinary for that price 😄
Or am I missing the point of this thread entirely?

KeepBritainTidy · 06/09/2024 10:20

I like this look, but would try to re-create it with what I have.
Mimi Wrap - Plümo Ltd (plumo.com)

It might not translate so well on my 'average' body :-)

The jeans look a bit like 'borrowed DH's ancient work jeans and cinched them in with a belt). Cost £0.

Whoa! I like Maude Kilt - Plümo Ltd (plumo.com)

KeepBritainTidy · 06/09/2024 10:30

I've been eyeing these up for a while Pacific Boots - Plümo Ltd (plumo.com)
but suspect they'd start to look a bit foot-shaped after a while.

softsummer · 28/09/2024 09:08

Don't want to hijack the thread but as there seem to be Plumo fans here, has anyone got the olive Doherty coat with either the hat or hood attachment? I think they look fab in a slightly QEII at Balmoral kind of way, but possibly unlined/not very hard wearing for the money?

I'm obsessed with looking longingly over the Plumo website these days

KeepBritainTidy · 28/09/2024 10:26

Doherty Coat - Olive - Plümo Ltd (plumo.com)
For that sort of money, I'd look for something similar from a brand like Barbour or Aquascutum.
