Hi, I am looking at smartening myself up and part of that is to start wearing accessories. I am not one for a load of bangles and costume jewellery, but like the idea of a new nice pieces that I can wear every day.

So if you don't mind sharing, would you mind telling me what jewellery you wear every day?

Thanks.

I wear the same every day. Wedding ring, engagement ring, diamond studs, watch and a Cartier bracelet

Whatineed · 06/09/2024 14:25

I have a lot of Fossil Jewelry which I coordinate with outfits. I have a lot of their chunky Heritage and Harlow pieces in gold colour.

I'm ordering the Arden bracelet and necklace as I really like the style of a watch bracelet and it's bold and bright enough to stand out and highlight Autumn neutral shades, black etc.

I like the idea of diamond studs that I wear every day. May I ask those of you who wear them where you bought them from and what carat they are?

WhiteCatmas · 07/09/2024 00:52

Just buy crystal studs, no one can tell the difference.

head2toeinuniqlo · 07/09/2024 02:38

@WhiteCatmas really? Like Swarovski, for instance?

I prefer moissanite over diamonds. They are even brighter than diamonds and don't have any dodgy ethical/human rights violation associations.

NailsHairNipsHeels · 07/09/2024 03:11

@head2toeinuniqlo
I wear lab created "diamond" stud earrings. They look the part at a fraction of the cost.
I got them from carat London but there are lots of similar stockists

head2toeinuniqlo · 07/09/2024 03:19

@HollyKnight I had ever heard of moissanite before!
@NailsHairNipsHeels may I ask which carat you wear?

@head2toeinuniqlo
I wear 0.75 I don't have particularly big ear lobes to anything bigger just looks a bit odd

Having read your post about your style I’d say something like the Tiffany bone cuffs in silver.

I like moonstone jewellery for every day. Sounds weird but I like my staples to feel more like me and moonstone, pearls and rose gold almost fade into your skin a bit.

Mine is really simple.

I have a gold coin pendant with a toggle clasp that I got in Greece. I've had so many comments / compliments. It goes well over tops or under a shirt.

I have a specfic colour for jewellery if I ever wear colour, which is turquoise. It really suits me. So, slightly dressier I have a turquoise beaded chain, sort of hexagonal beads, hard to explain, has a toggle back like the other one, was also from Greece. If I'm feeling the bling I layer with first chain

I also have a delicate chain with pearls from Boden for super smart.

Earrings I have tiny turquoise teardrops from Oliver Bonas. The stone keeps falling out and I keep taking exchanging them so I probably need to spend more.

I have two piercings in one side and one in the other. No idea why. I actually have 3 and 2 but I let them close.

I also have some blingy rainbow circle drop earrings for dressier also from Oliver Bonas.

A toggle clasp pearl bracelet.

I find bracelets and rings very hard to wear as I will constantly absent mindedly take them off.

Colour is very personal. I had my colours done and I am bright spring, so light gold and rose gold are nice.

weareallcats · 07/09/2024 20:46

I wear my wedding and engagement rings and my Tag watch all the time, but I switch up everything else according to mood/outfit. I’ve just got some lovely (inexpensive) earrings with opals in them from Oliver Bonas and like them so much that I think I might get some more opal jewellery. I like Missoma for bits that feel nice but aren't too expensive.

I'm an absolute magpie, & my dressing table is full of everything from properly expensive vintage to complete tut.

I pick a colour every week (tomorrow is green) - & coordinate the jewellery around the clothes. So tomorrow I'm wearing a blue & green frock with peacock stud earrings.

Having said that, if I'm ever washed up on a desert island, I'll be happy with silver studs in all my various piercings.

head2toeinuniqlo · 08/09/2024 23:26

@CorvusPurpureus I love the idea of having a weekly colour! You remind me of a teacher I know. She wears a different outfit every day of the term. And she always looks amazing! Like she will wear Vegemite earrings and her clothes will be coordinated to match the earrings.

I wear the same jewellery everyday. 2 ear studs 1 diamond and 1 sapphire. I don't wear a wedding ring as it is a little tight but I wear my engagement ring diamond solitaire, then a 5 stone sapphire ring on the baby finger left hand. Right hand diamond eternity ring then a single large sapphire surrounded by diamonds on baby finger. I usually wear a gold chain with a diamond heart pendant. I very rarely change jewellery but if going out or wearing red I occasionally change sapphire studs for ruby ones and change sapphire and diamond ring on right hand baby finger to a ruby and diamond one. I like fine quality jewellery and won't wear costume jewellery. I have a few antique rings in amethyst and ruby but very rarely wear them.

Every day wear, I keep it very simple, I wear a bracelet that my sister bought me from Tiffany. It's a very simple box bracelet but I love it.

Aside from that, I have double lobe piercings so I usually wear a small stud and some threader earrings. I am quite sensitive to sleeping on jewellery and I find the threaders to be the most comfortable to leave in. This is my go-to pair -> https://www.threaderearrings.co.uk/threader-earrings/pull-tight-star-threader-earrings-with-twisted-post/ I can't feel them when I'm lying down, they're just so comfy. When I'm going out, I'll sometimes swap out those basic star threaders for something a bit more sparkly, but generally keeping everything pretty low key and simple.

I've also got a cuff from the same website which doesn't require a piercing.

I always wear my wedding band and a pair of small gold hoops. If I'm feeling fancy, I’ll add a delicate chain bracelet or a dainty pendant necklace. I used to love rings that changed with mood rings colors when I was younger, and I sometimes miss that playful touch in my jewelry. Now, I prefer simple, classic pieces that go with everything and don’t need much thought in the morning.
