Hunt for a wedding guest dress

I've got an early summer wedding next year but it will fall just after the end of 3 months statutory maternity pay so I'm looking to buy a dress now as summery ones are still in stock, bonus if it's in the sale.

Wedding is for a very close friend, posh barn vibe no church.

I absolutely LOVE this dress from Karen Millen but it's very pricey and probably a bit too formal. Can anyone suggest something with a similar feel?

I'm 5"4, long dark hair, broad shoulders, wide hips, will still be breastfeeding (baby not at wedding so doesn't need to be breastfeeding friendly) but probably still a bit busty and hoping to be a size 12.

Between now and next year you’re almost certain to find that dress either available to rent or on sale pre-owned, maybe not even worn. (I think it could be great with, say, cowboy boots …)

But more generally it does sound as if hiring might make more sense for you, financially - unless you think you’d want to wear your chosen dress to other events later on.
