Anyone with curly hair got a fringe?

I have a huge (and I mean huge) forehead. As in look deformed.

I have very curly hair (3a/3b).

I feel like a fringe would suit me when my hair is straight, but not when it's curly. Problem is, I don't want to damage it by straightening it all the time!!

Has anybody had a fringe cut and been able to pull it off both ways?

I feel like if I have the fringe cut in when it's straight, when my hair is curly it'll be so short.

Help!

Hmmm I would say be very careful. I have very curly hair and had a mullet type modern cut last year with a fringe and I honestly looked like an Alpaca. 😳

I actually like a curly fringe, I think. They can look quite cute and also stylish
I’m not says mine is either of those things but I have curly hair and a fringe and I like it!

My fringe curls in one area, in five directions at once. 🤬

I straighten it, and always use heat protection spray. It’s in good condition.

Abstractthinking · 01/09/2024 19:50

Nope. Tried it. It was disaster for me. Good luck for you though

I'm more a 2c/3a but I have a fringe. I keep it quite long and choppy, not blunt and think it looks nice 😊

I'm so sorry but I had a good giggle at your comment! Exactly why I no longer have short hair and/or a fringe.

Have a look at ringlet.Riss or curlycrybabyy on insta. They have great curly fringes.

Barleysugar86 · 01/09/2024 19:54

I do! My hair tends to start it's wavy curl an inch or so from my parting though so my fringe stays mainly straight, I tidy up the ends when they try and curl up but for the most part just brushing it while wet does it. I much prefer the look of my fringe as well, i feel it helps balance my big thick hair.

I’m naturally curly but got a bit sick of the upkeep so more recently have blow dried it straight and cut in a side fringe. I wore it curly the past few days and the side fringe has actually curled quite nicely- but I wasn’t expecting it to!

brawhen · 01/09/2024 20:01

I have similar 3a and have a long side fringe cut in. Looks fine curly. Most days I blow dry the fringe and let the rest air dry - my SIL describes this as 'sorted at the front, party at the back' 😂. I think it looks good when i get the blow dry right, and limit it just to the fringe. Danger of scarecrow hair if I go too far.

I am post divorced having been forced to have my hair a certain way for nearly 30 years so finally having so much fun with my curls!!

I cut it myself as I can't cope with all the chat at the hairdressers - my life is like an episode of Jeremy Kyle

I have taken the plunge and gone for a slightly shorter style but loads of messy curls on top and a fringe. Then number of compliments has been just what I needed!!!

I have found I need to follow the curly girl method to avoid frizz but don't need expensive products

I am sure my ex would HATE it but I look 10 years younger!!

Be brave.....

WeDeserveBetter · 01/09/2024 21:14

It is this kind of thing - mine is perhaps a little shorter with more curls ontop. It would hide the forehead

GettingStuffed · 01/09/2024 21:17

I can't as it rolls up around my hairline and it looks mega silly

Thighdentitycrisis · 01/09/2024 21:22

I have a bit of a fringe and I never straighten my hair though so no danger of the blow drying vs air dry difference.
I cut mine curl by curl
