Real Life ones not the website

Which one is best ?
There;s Oxford Street which I went to about four months ago .
Looking online there's
One near Tottenham Court Road Station and another in Regent Street - haven't been to either of these .

DD (22) is looking for coats so we need to go IRL not online .
I'm sure she'll see loads of other things that she likes too .

Which is the best bet for store size and new stock ?

TIA

I think they’re all much the same. I’ve been to the TCR one and the one a bit further up but is before Ox St station. Pretty sure there’s a 3rd one maybe further up Ox St towards Marble Arch end and another one on Regent St - far too many in such a small area and too crowded IMO. You could easily visit all four of them.

cromwell44 · 01/09/2024 00:21

There’s one behind Spitalfields market which is no different from the others but may be slightly less crowded. Might suit you, depending on where you live.

DietrichandDiMaggio · 01/09/2024 00:24

There's also stores at Covent Garden and Battersea power Station, but think the Oxford Street one is their flagship store. You can check in-store stock on their website, so you can see where what you are looking for is available.

NuzzleandScratch · 01/09/2024 00:33

In my opinion the Oxford St one opposite John Lewis is best, as there’s much more space in store. The one further up past Oxford Circus is really squashed, feels like there’s no room to move around. The one in Covent Garden is a beautiful building inside (not what you’d expect at all from the outside!) but would still recommend the Oxford St one as above, which as another says, seems to be their flagship.

I'm so jealous of the number of Uniqlo stores in and around London. I think the only other one is in Manchester!

Coughsweet · 01/09/2024 00:43

A Uniqlo store opened in Edinburgh a few months ago. Was pleased to see it opened on Princes St and not in the curly poo.

Glamorous24 · 01/09/2024 00:45

I really like the Covent Garden one but agree that the Oxford st opposite John Lewis probably best in terms of stock.

i haven’t yet been to the newer Tottenham Ct Rd one

Kittensat36 · 01/09/2024 00:46

There's one at the Angel, Islington. No idea how good it is though

TheOGCCL · 01/09/2024 08:38

There’s a new one opening in Kings Cross this month (Coal Drops Yard). I think the one in Westfield White City is also reopening this autumn after a very long break.

I think they are all much of a muchness, apart from the Covent Garden one which is in an old building (used to be Gap back in the day).

You can check stock online so I’d check sone of the things you’re aiming to try first and see which one has more,

Agree. It’s big. The other Oxford Street one is much, much smaller and carries significantly less stock.

Dsiclaimer: I haven’t been to any of their other stores but as Nuzzle says, I’m assuming Oxford Street, given its prestigious position, is the flagship store.

DD and I had a day trip to Manchester last week just so that we could visit their store. I wish they would open in Leeds or Sheffield.

olderbutwiser · 01/09/2024 08:45

I like the Battersea Power station one. It’s quite a day out to BPS if you fancy it, although the other shops there are mostly in a league well above my budget! Great for gawping though.

Plexie · 01/09/2024 08:51

I'd start at the Oxford Street branch opposite John Lewis.

I hate their newly designed stores, eg Regent Street and Covent Garden, as they're cramped with high shelving, have no delineation between men's and women's sections, and for some bizarre reason have hidden the pay points in a separate room to make them hard to find.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 01/09/2024 15:47

I had a look on the website there's no stock levels for the coat she wants as its due "early Sept"

I'm not keen on the new(ish) Bluewater layout , the old shop had two levels and was nice and airy , the new store is one level and seems more oppressive , maybe lighting isn't as good .

The Oxford St store has about three levels I think , maybe more . I think we'll start there and maybe look at the TCR one too .

I'm gutted there aren't more over here! Thanks for the info on all the London ones as I was planning a trip too.
I was in Strasbourg last week and there was one there, but Sunday so shut, I was so disappointed as never been in a store.

DietrichandDiMaggio · 01/09/2024 20:22

There's a Uniqlo in Oxford too.

OP, when are you planning on going, because if it says coming September the coat will go into all of the stores at the same time, so none will have it yet.

Kitkat1523 · 01/09/2024 20:29

I like the one in Battersea power station the best….it’s quirky….they also sell some Battersea dogs home stuff ….I got my pooch an identity tag ( which I had engraved) for 3 quid!

EternallyDelighted · 01/09/2024 20:33

The Covent Garden one is a beautiful building and full of light but a confusing layout as mentioned above and was boiling hot last time I went. I agree about the men’s and women’s stuff all being jumbled up. I prefer Battersea PS, but haven’t been to Oxford St.
