Night in Liverpool - go glam??

Off to Liverpool next weekend, am scared I will be so underdressed!

Was thinking of a black sequin top I own but yet to wear, but what on the bottom? Am 41, have no idea what is cool?!

Am short and petite but booby - I need some ideas!

I live on the outskirts of Liverpool and am a couple of years younger than you. I don't even attempt to keep up with "Liverpool glam" - it's exhausting and too high-maintenance for me! If I'm going out in town I tend to just wear a dress I like (nothing massively tight or revealing), and either heels or trainers depending on the formality and venue.

If you're going "out out" in town, then a lot of the women you see will have made a LOT of effort - heavy makeup in a certain style; high-maintenance hairstyles; and VERY glam clothing.

If you're going to nightclubs or trendy bars, then the demographic will be different than if you're going to sit in the Puffin Rooms at Turmeaus drinking whisky, or if you're going to hang around the studenty pubs near the University. Where is it you're going?

Personally I'd wear a dress if I were you - I don't see many women in a top and trousers and I think you might feel under-dressed.

i was out in liverpool centre last weekend. when i went previously about 4 years ago it was super glam, big hair and stilettos with teeny tiny dresses. this time it was like a different world. lots of DM sandals or boots or similar styles, baggy jeans, no big hair and i saw one group of wine on a hen do with teeny tiny dresses and only one of those were in stilettos. the rest were in block heel sandals.
it was noticeably different by a country mile.
