Can anyone please help me with a holiday wardrobe (New York)?

As the title says. I'm going to New York for a week in September. I wouldn't usually buy new clothes just for a holiday but I'm taking this as an opportunity to motivate myself to fix my wardrobe a bit as its currently fairly dire. I'm early 30s, have a toddler and haven't shifted as much of the baby weight as I'd like, although I am getting there. I currently live in floaty skirts and dresses with chunky cardigans and birkenstocks or trainers and tend to buy most of my clothes from oliver bonas, mango, zara and h&m. I'm just over 5ft, a size 10-12 on the bottom and a size 8-10 on top. I can throw a bit of money at the problem as my wardrobe really does need refreshing; quite a lot of what I have is now very old and getting faded and bobbled and a bit frumpy. Thanks in advance!

I found that my &other stories & OB things were well suited to NYC and even got a couple of compliments from stylish wait staff but that may have been tip culture! The Zara in NYC is very good too and things seemed cheaper there than UK so might be best to wait. The Levi’s store will do adjustments there and then in store. COS and Banana republic good too but generally shopping is homogenised like UK . USA is more casual but there were some unwritten rules I hadn’t realised esp in posh places - no white trousers in September after Labour Day , strictly no rips in jeans. So your floaty dresses and birks/trainers will fit right in and you may find you both dress up a bit and wear jeans more than expected. Also a weird ? Class thing against trainers if not in gym gear (more CT than NYC where everyone wears trainers ).Target has been great for shopping in past but disappointing this month- you may find Nordstrom, Saks, Bloomingdale’s and Bergdorf Goodman better suited to your tastes. Have fun! NYC is awesome
