What does it look like when it grows back?

Does it appear really obviously?
I'd hate stubble. Surely that would be worse than now.

Will it be awful?

I don't know what to do.

Does the hair grow back slowly with creams too?

I've used them on my bikini line before and they've not worked that well. A bit patchy. But the hair there is thick and dark and very different to on my face.

Only had eyebrows done so...

Threading doesn't give you spots but I found waxing does when the hairs grow back as the top layer of skin goes with it too.

I would have it done on a day when you can stay indoors and see no one for a few hours as it can go red (my eyebrows go bright red!!)

FWIW - I DO notice taches on women and if it were me then I would defo be having it threaded.

HTH

I use a combination of hair removal cream and bleach on mine. Every second time I use bleach. I am saving up for electrolysis.

I went to see about getting it lasered off but they told me my skin pigment was too dark for lasering and that my face would go on fire or some such crap.

WaxOrNot · 21/04/2008 18:35

OH CRAPPPITY CRAP!!!!!!!

I just used some Boots removal cream.

It said to do a test patch first then wait 24 hours to do it again.

So I put a blob on one corner and left it the 5 minutes. It's worked but now because I only did a bit, I feel that it's even more noticable than before

Shall I just risk it and do it all??

It's not stingy. Just a bit tingly. The tiniest bit tingly. Or shall I wait a few hours and then do the rest?

HELP!!!!!!

Hello??????

WigWamBam · 21/04/2008 18:58

Leave it for the 24 hours just in case you have a delayed reaction. It's unlikely but you never know.

A tiny area won't be that noticeable.

WaxOrNot · 21/04/2008 19:11

Thanks WWB.

I prob notice it more than others.

WaxOrNot · 21/04/2008 20:05

Ok, just looked again and I HAVE to do it. I can't leave it. I can't go to school and my friends like this I feel like it's a hitler tashe

Surely something would have happened by now if it was going to.

OP posts:
WigWamBam · 21/04/2008 20:21

Probably - but not necessarily.

No-one will notice - from what you've said your hair is quite fine and the chances are that no-one will be looking so closely at your top lip that they will see it anyway!

It is best to leave it for the full 24 hours because delayed reactions can occur. It will probably be fine but best not to risk it.

If you do decide to do it, remove it at once if it starts to be sore or more than tingly. The soreness that you will get if you do have a reaction will be far more noticeable than what you have at the moment, trust me!

WaxOrNot · 21/04/2008 21:18

I'm going to do it. In a bit . It's wierd but I don't want to tell dh. I'm embarrased.

God I hate all this faffing. It'll be back in a few days anyway

OP posts:
WigWamBam · 21/04/2008 21:23

Darling, I have a full beard and moustache - and dh doesn't bat an eyelid whether I wax it away or leave it to grow to its full, luxuriant length.

There are very few things you should be embarrassed about sharing with your dh. This isn't one of them.

It won't grow back that quickly. And if it does, twenty minutes with the cream and it's all gone again. No need to be sad, no need to be embarrassed.

yoyo · 21/04/2008 21:29

Prufrock - interested to read about the threading. I have my eyebrows done at Blink and was told not to thread upper lip!

WaxOrNot - are you glad that you have taken the plunge?

Ambi · 21/04/2008 21:36

waxornot, most creams are too strong for the face. I picked up some nair or veet esp for the face, which is ok, but grew back in a week, I alternate that with silkymit.

WaxOrNot · 21/04/2008 21:44

Ambi- It's a cream especially for the face. i got 2 types in Boots in case one didn't work.

WWB, you are so sweet. I just am very self concious anyway and don't want to draw attention to the parts I hate.

I may tell him after.

yo yo- doing it after britains next top modeL

Great a prog to make me feel even crapper about myself

Ambi · 21/04/2008 21:53

I think you'll feel great once it's done. DH once walked in on me with the cream on His expression said WTF? I just said, it's either this or the tache. I don't think that others notice it as much as we do, but I feel the fuzz and try to make a point of removing once a week.

Ambi · 21/04/2008 21:55

My mum used to use the earlier creams on me in my early teens, gave me a good look of clown mouth with the red area. Luckily they are much better now. Let us know how you got on.

WaxOrNot · 21/04/2008 22:05

Ambi , how does it feel when it comes back??

OP posts:
Ambi · 21/04/2008 22:14

pretty soft actually, except the odd ones which I insist on plucking (stupid me) and now they're v. noticable. Have you got the one with the brush, I got that cream a week or two ago, so easy to use, i put it on as the shower heats up and wash off in the shower 3 mins later.

pamplemousse · 21/04/2008 22:21

Just to be rude and hijack your thread (I bleach my dark tache!) i have never seen threading advertised and want my eyebrows done.... How do you find someone that does it? TIA

WaxOrNot · 21/04/2008 22:33

I've just done it.

I feel so free!!!!

It's bit stingy but was better as soon as I put the after cream on.

I can't wait to smile on the school run now.

I have avoided lipsticks for years as I thought I looked like a man in drag.
I am aware that I am completely ovet the top in that theory but that's how I felt.
