What to wear with this skirt? Help please!

I have recently dropped a few dress sizes, and am going to a couple of parties in the next few weeks, a 40th, a 50th, a 70th (v posh meal) and a 70th afternoon tea. I have always avoided anything which I couldnt wear "comfy trousers" to and blend into the nearest wall!

I am quite enjoying my new found buying freedom and choice, but finding it a bit daunting! I bought this skirt this morning on Gok's recommendation, and have a pair of black shoes similar to these

Thought it would be ok for the 40th and possibly the 50th as they are 2 completely different sets of friends.

I am 5ft 1 ish, light brown ish hair, arms not great, I 'think' I look better in a V neck or scoop neck, average size norks!

BUT...What do I wear on top? What jewellery? Its all so confusing!!!

what about a smart cardigan with 3/4 sleeves that showed a bit of cleavage? it's a lovely skirt

Love that skirt and those shoes. Ib agree that a cardi would go lovely with it, perhaps with a sparkly cami top underneath. Or perhaps a cream/white v neck jumper with a lovley corsage pinned on it?

Or a blouse would look OK too I guess.

I agree, a sweet, slightly clingy round neck cardi, undone to show cleavage, with a little cami underneath. cvuld go fvr black, cream or red maybe, even that lovely leafy green. with some beads or bangles.
