Cool Parisian blouse to wear with jeans. Help

Webbymeister · 23/08/2024 20:59

I really fancy a cool fitted blouse long sleeve white, to go with jeans. Came back from Paris or lots of women with this and with a perhaps khaki jacket over the top ,trainers flare jeans.

I’ve been looking everywhere and can’t find anything I like. Has to be cotton or cotton with some stretch

This is just a white blouse 🤷‍♀️

This thread has gone round will's mother's 😂

I would describe many of these as Laura Ashley blouses from the 1970s .

John Lewis has many .

Which is what the OP asked for.

I have read the thread and thought I'd pitch in. Ah @fluffiphlox I think it went to this shop in the 1990s... the proprietor took one look at me and my colleague and selected the PERFECT blouse/shirt. My colleague, floaty, feminine and me more of a masculine cut, double cuffs, pointy collar, horizontal pleats (I still have it...). But wanting a 'perfect' shirt two years ago I went into Jodhpur concession in Galleries Maison Lagayette. It was about 45 euro. Everything else in the store was eye rolling expensive or made for Emily in Paris types.

Jeez. Sorry fitted blouse police.

What are yiu on about?
If you post a picture of a cat and call it a dog, I would also tell you how incorrect this is.
Why are you so uppset by facts?

More the spelling TBH 😉

@Mirabai she asked for a Parisian blouse. Are you saying that all plain white shirts are "Parisian" ?

lazybrownfox · 26/08/2024 23:47

Is this a Parisian shirt? Genuine question.

The only thing that makes it Parisian is I saw a few people wearing them in Paris.

Could be utterly my imagination

Jeez. Sorry fitted blouse police.

There was detail on the front.
it’s not a plain white shirt
My daughter-in-law worked in Paris for a few months earlier this year and we met up for lunch. She was wearing similar then too.

I just love when people faced with the lack of arguments go after spelling on a fucking social media site lmao

If you’re happy, I’m happy.

lazybrownfox · 27/08/2024 10:52

To be Parisian or not to be ? That is the question 😂

OnlyFrench · 27/08/2024 11:14

I love that, very Juliette Binoche, but I'd spill red wine down it within five minutes

Update

the next one is no good

Hope you like the Sezane Jesse blouse Op. I have it in green from last season and it's quite thick fabric- almost like a crochet so a bit bulkier than I expected, but I got a lot of wear out of it as it was warm enough to wear Autumn, Winter and Spring (although too thick for very warm weather)

RichTea90 · 28/08/2024 14:57

Try Sezanne

Try Sezanne

read the thread mate
so the Zara one came.

It’s lovely and soft and looked nice apart from it’s a bit square along the bottom if you know what I mean

Wow, rude much 👍

Webbymeister · 28/08/2024 20:52

It was just a piece of advice. To be honest, I think posting something on a thread without reading any of the rest is a bit strange.

Update.

The Sezanbe Jessie came in a most delicious box with a free tote bag as well, LOL.

Anyway the top itself is lovely. It’s not really a blouse as somebody else helpfully said it’s more a top, but I’m keeping this.

I live in Paris and haven’t noticed this trend - maybe my quartier is a bit too populaire 😂 ? Where did you spot this OP?

I bought my favourite white blouse by Anne Fontaine from Bicester Village years ago. Every time I wear it I get compliments about how smart, classic and (sometimes) how Parisian it looks.
Looking at the website there are some beautiful shirts but they're eye-wateringly expensive (mine cost £95 and obviously, being from Bicester, was discounted).
However Vinted have got some AF pieces at far more reasonable prices; might be worth a look.

I had an AF blouse picked up from a charity shop years ago and it was exquisite. No idea where that went over the years 🤔

ThePearlSloth · 31/08/2024 19:23

I’ve found loads of nice white blouses in tkmaxx, lots are from the shirt company (but cheaper) plus a really nice fitted linen shirt that is by some Scandinavian brand that I’ve forgotten the name of. But, tkmaxx.

Yes, most of my white blouses have something spilled on them 😢

If you swim or lift weights or are true hourglass, Brora comes up narrow in the armpits and across the back; it's the cut, rather than the sizing. If you have a 'straighter' figure, it'll fit better. Joules can be similar.
