have just realised, am too old for baseball caps...

...I maybe should have realised this a long time ago! So what kind of sunhat do I get?

I'm not very often in a summer dress mindset, so it needs to be casual, something I could wear with shorts. I refuse to be too old for shorts.

I'm also too old for the "I'm at a festival" mesh trilby look.

Please, what do people wear on their heads?!

How old are you? I wear baseball caps when I do early morning dog walk in summer

ApuskiDusky · 16/04/2008 12:16

36, I think I look younger, but not enough...

I've been known to don a baseball cap with shorts too and jeans with flip flops

I'm 33 but look about 22 natch

ApuskiDusky · 16/04/2008 12:21

maybe its because I've had my longish hair cut short, it doesn't look right any more

scarves look nice with shorter hair.

NotQuiteCockney · 16/04/2008 12:26

There are lots of floppy summer hats around, or there were, last year.

I would think most people on here would be too much 'not an American frat boy' for baseball caps, too, but probably that's just my thinking. (Helpfully, DS1 has taken a liking to them. )

ApuskiDusky · 16/04/2008 12:26

how tied, chops?

i humoured myself that I avoided the frat boy look by wearing the soft front caps, iyswim, which are actually the shape of someones head, unlike the flat fronted ones. But yes, its a risk!

bandana style is a good alternative to baseball caps for with shorts. here

I'd be tempted to get a cheap floppy hat too, and then do that up with scarfs.

I don't wear hats in summer though, don't like it in the heat. In the winter I love my baker boy hats.

ChopsTheDuck · 16/04/2008 13:14

actually I do have a summery sort of baker boy hat too, it's yellow and thinner, with polka dots on the underneath. They look nice with cropped trousers.

ApuskiDusky, love that one you have linked to!
