Inspiration for graduation event outfit

Help please!

I have a graduation event coming up for a course I’ve been working on for a few years. The dress code is business attire (think suit and tie for men). I’m self employed and live in the scottish highlands so my day to day dress is much more casual. I also had a baby last year and am slightly bigger than I am comfortable with, and than my current smart clothes cater for (probably a 14-16 currently). I don’t have many local shops to look in, but not sure where to look online as not clothes shopped for ages!!

looking for an outfit that accommodates post baby tummy, value for money (ideally not hundreds), travels well (will be travelling by plane to the event), not too frumpy, and ideally that can be dressed down after so I don’t just wear it the once! Am around 5’7/8 and often need longer length trousers.

I will probably wear nude court shoes with it, I have a white loose fit blazer I could wear with the right dress/trousers.

any suggestions?

With no idea of budget but if it were me and I couldn't find something in my wardrobe I'd look at Max Mara for this. I wouldn't wear a jacket with any of them and I wouldn't wear a white jacket to this.

Max Mara 1
Max Mara 2
Max Mara 3
Max Mara 4

I just bought a Sugarhill Brighton dress and found it looks really smart as the material is good quality. There are lots of options, this one might be a bit bright but could go with nude heels www.sugarhillbrighton.com/collections/shirt-dresses/products/lauretta-midi-shirt-dress-red-tropical-toucans
