Which items/labels shall I look for on Vinted for AW24?

I’m loving Vinted at the moment however I rarely buy things for myself on there. I’m after some nice jumpers/petite trousers etc for AW that won’t break the bank.

I mostly shop at the usual high street places - Next/New Look/H&M etc but I’m after some nicer items from perhaps more upmarket/better quality places!? What have people got their eye on and which shops should I try?

Mint Velvet is lovely, some bargains on Vinted.

Vinted. Can often get things new still with the tags on from the more expensive labels as I'm sure you've seen.

Are some of you being deliberately annoying? Confused

Are they? Why do you say that!?

There was a good thread yesterday in style and beauty about autumn winter run way looks. Someone mentioned that vogue runway has an app.

Puppylucky · 13/08/2024 07:07

The OP is looking for suggestions of brands not just items - I doubt you'll find anything from Vogue on Vinted!

Yes I was after specific brands etc to look for on Vinted!

I'd be interested to know too! I've been looking for the brands I can't normally afford -
Toast, Massimo Dutti, Margaret Howell, Sezane, Ganni, Whistles, Jigsaw, Jaeger, Benetton (vintage)

Also, cashmere / pure wool cardigans, silk tops / dresses (particularly vintage)

Heavens - why on earth not?

Vogue shows an inexhaustible range of brands and designers - from supermarkets to couture and everything in between. Vinted enables an inexhaustible range of clothes that people have bought and now want to sell to be redistributed.

All Saints for leather jackets

Puppylucky · 13/08/2024 11:13

Well that's a surprise @Wildermess I assumed obviously wrongly that Vogue featured just the higher end brands which in my experience just don't show up on Vinted.

Wildermess · 13/08/2024 11:30

Never assume, always explore!

(If you’d been born as long ago as I was you’d remember the very wonderful Vogue supplement that occasionally appeared concentrating entirely on lower priced clothes. What was it called??? Possibly ‘More Dash than Cash’. Once that stopped you just had to peruse the editorial photos very thoroughly; there was and is almost always something from a vintage store and something High St or sourced from a local market mixed in with a Chanel jacket and Balenciaga skirt.)

Although you might perhaps find greater depth of high end items on Vestiaire or any other similar pre-owned sites. I imagine people choose where to re-sell stuff based on a combination of likely profit and degree of faff? (I’m a sufferer of Can’t be bothered so tend to give things away instead.)

The Autograph at M&S range is good quality and mostly priced around the £30 mark for VGC cashmere. I'd stick to solid colours as I think cashmere with intarsia patterns/big motifs are looking a bit dated.

This AW, I'm looking for a couple of smart menswear styled shirts (possibly the Jack Wills boyfriend shirt), a neutral/beige cashmere sweater and a black leather handbag (vintage Coach or Kate Spade) because they're the gaps in my current wardrobe, and I can generally afford better quality buying secondhand. What kind of clothes are you currently drawn to, and what works with your lifestyle? Think about the clothes you wear most often, do any of them need replacing, and is it time for an upgrade?

AmiesLana · 13/08/2024 11:35

I occasionally take a walk around the bigger stores and note down any labels/ brands I like it haven't heard of.

When I search I add the brand to the list and save. That way I have a growing list of brands I like and can go back to.

Neveranynamesleft · 13/08/2024 12:17

Fenn Wright Manson is lovely stuff, again bargains to be had on Vinted.

Thanks I’ll have a look. Do they shrink easily? My current preferred style in autumn winter is flared leggings and bootcut/mom jeans or normal leggings and oversized jumpers. Pretty standard/mum uniform 😬. I want to try get a pair of straight leg jeans too.

I’m not sure what style of jumpers/winter tops to wear with the bootcut/mom style jeans though. I don’t think oversized jumpers looks good with them on me. I’m mainly looking for winter tops/jumpers but unsure what style to go for.

Op, if it's specifically designer brands you're after, have you looked at Vestiaire Collective? I've bought some bargains...Balmain, Elisabetta Franchi, L'Agence, Maje, etc. Definitely worth a look x
