Getting braids to stay in despite washing hair.

I am having a Viking-esque hairstyle for an event. My Dd is doing it and due to various factors it's going to have to be done 2 sleeps before the events. It's the sleeping on it that messes it up mainly. I wash it every day too and no, I can't go without washing it. I can't do it myself because I'm crap.

What can I use to make sure they stay in place? I'll post a picture of similar styles. My hair is naturally wavy but quite fine.

Any help much appreciated.

I don't think it's going to be an option to wash your hair with plaits like that in. Best change plans or invest in some dry shampoo

Maybe dry shampoo will suffice. It's survived washing with small braids in. I just pat the shampoo in. I'm perimenopausal and get sweaty so not washing it will be awful.

Could you tie it up in a high bun with the plaits still in? Then it wouldn’t be so warm and sweaty. Some dry shampoo on the roots should help too.

Yes I could do a bum with the braids in. I have a lot of wispy hair around my hairline but maybe hairspray would last the night.

Tie a silk scarf tightly around it at bedtime. It may help.
