Wearing this dress to a wedding next week. Wore it to one in May because it fit my growing baby bump, still fits the bump bit now my feet are swollen as hell! Last time I wore wee off white pointed shoes and it looked lovely.
What flat shoes can I wear without looking stupid? ☹️ or mules or something?? I'm 33 and dont want to look frumpy. Bonus points if I can get them delivered over the next few days 🇬🇧

[Shoes I wore last time - they're not as kitten heel-y as they look here](www.newlook.com/uk/womens/footwear/shoes/wide-fit-white-leather-look-slingback-court-shoes/p/893928310)

Honestly, focus on comfort. What about Birkenstocks? You'll look lovely and Earth-mothery, not frumpy. plus you'll get loads of wear out of them in future.

Appreciate your help, but I'm far from earth mother and they are absolutely extortionate.

Sketchers are amazing. So comfortable!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 09/08/2024 21:25

Your shoes link is just showing the link for New Look.
I would 100% go comfort , I bought some Skechers similar to those viváis ones for when I have to make an attempt at dressing up.

I cannot wear heels and I don’t wear leather so they suit me.

TBH. you’re risking your comfort and the health of your feet for one event. You could be sitting looking at blisters for a week after if you squeeze your poor feet

catgirl30 · 09/08/2024 23:12

I get the impression people are missing the point, I'm not looking to risk my comfort or foot health 🙄 I've asked what flat shoes would suit.

Get some sandals with adjustable straps and wear them in a bit before the wedding.

Something like these? Black | Tourist II Sandals |Hotter UK
Blue | Saunter Sandals |Hotter UK

@catgirl30 , the links in your OP don't work. Also bear in mind that we are trying to help.

For swollen feet boots are best. Converse always good and can be smart

RampantIvy · 10/08/2024 07:23

If your feet are really swollen I think you need to talk to your midwife to rule out any serious health concerns.

I would go for something like this, they come in wide and extra wide fit so should be able to accommodate your feet.

They come in 4 colours too.

they come in 4 colours.

They work if you copy and paste and remove the brackets in the URL. But yes, exactly..! I have more suggestions but I'm not inclined to help when OP is being so rude. I also don't think £75 for a pair of sandals you'd get loads of wear out of is 'extortionate', so perhaps a budget would have helped, OP. We're not mind readers. Ultimately nobody at the wedding cares what you wear on your feet, you're pregnant and other guests will appreciate that.

It's this one... Farrah Orange Floral Split Hem Frill Detail Maxi Dress – Girl In Mind

OP specifically said not frumpy, so not sure Hotter or Gabor will hit the mark...

Nowt so frump as Birkenstocks imo! Ugliest shoes ever.

I wouldn’t suggest Hotter for her, but interested to see if the Gabors might suit.

Ones which won’t cut into your feet when they get swollen as you’ll be standing a while.

Or wear what you like .?

KirstenBlest · 10/08/2024 13:08

@JudgeBurrito She's pregnant and it will be a long day. The ones I suggested were not frumpy, she'll be in a maxi dress and she'll be glad of having the options of all the straps being adjustable.

I love my birkenstocks and while they are not particularly elegant, they were brilliant when heavily pregnant and nothing else fitted. The metallic ones are a little 'dressier'.

If your feet are too swollen, even for your wide fit shoes and especially if this is fairly sudden, you need to address this first.

I was also going to ask when you last had your BP checked. I'd go a pharmacy pronto.

Once you've checked your BP, try some kitten heeled flip flops, or head to the simply be website, where they do a lot of EE and EEE fir sandals aimed at a younger market. Next day delivery and easy returns.

ZiggyZowie · 10/08/2024 17:16

I've bought quite a few pairs shoes off Temu around 11 - 14 £ per pair ,wide fit, non leather and they're comfortable

Welshstaffy · 10/08/2024 17:42

I shouldn’t laugh but some of these suggestions are hideous 😂

OP - can you try and repair your links in your post so we can see what your fashion sense is?

The gold Gabor are lovely BetteLaSwet
