Microneedling for hair loss

I keep on seeing this recommended online but has anyone actually tried it? I'm especially interested if anyone has done it these before applying Minoxodil with one of those rollers. I'm a bit worried it might cut through the hair!

It does have some effect but I gave up after awhile as it's not fun to do for the marginal effect. It's probably fine if you're a man with short hair but I always had to be super careful and I'd still end up yanking some hairs out so it felt rather counter productive. I didn't find it damaged the hair shafts but the rolling motion does catch hairs. A dermapen is an alternative but it would take quite a long time.

My dermatologist specifically instructed me not to apply Minoxidil after microneedling, I occasionally get dizzy from it anyhow so it didn't seem like a good idea to make it more potent. My derm also explained it's only a good thing to try together if you're not responding to Minoxidil as well as you'd hope but in such a situation adding tretinoin to a Minoxidil prescription is a better option.

Thanks. That's good to know. I'll just try the minoxidil on it's own then.

It can work and has been proven to.
It is part of the treatment protocol post hair transplant.

I actually only have men come to me for this as ladies tend to go down the extension route instead.

It is a commitment in terms of time and financial. It needs to be medical microneedling due to the depth required.

It needs to be a pen too, not a roller as this will cause more damage
