Teva sandals (or others for beach/light hiking/walking)

Can anyone recommend a particular style please? Teva Original Universals are cheaper but look a bit harsh on feet? Teva Hurricanes look to be the most comfy… ideally want a bit of padding inside the straps and for them to be water resistant for walking along the beach and other damp walks. I want plain black, no weird colours! Can anyone recommmend any? Thanks :)

Trespass Kimba Walking Sandals - so comfortable & and bit less walking-sandal looking than others!

I have Teva originals (these www.google.com/aclk?sa=l&ai=DChcSEwj5n6WZ1OiHAxUClVAGHQtEH4IYABAmGgJkZw&co=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw_Na1BhAlEiwAM-dm7G2n_J0tKItv3D4FWGrNMi7Wjv_S7Mnw1eLWM_CyQrXNucaMbzHKkRoCLbwQAvD_BwE&sig=AOD64_04QZzuZDWCSQIsnbKDqECIVec27w&ctype=5&q=&ved=2ahUKEwiL_J-Z1OiHAxVEZkEAHah6DYsQwg8oAHoECAcQUA&adurl=)

and while I’ve never used them for any strenuous hikes they’re hands down the comfiest sandals I own. The footbed is textured and I feel like that helps me not to end up with sore feet at the end of the day. I’d buy another pair without hesitation.

Teva lite hurricane? I think that’s the ones. £70 in black. I can walk for miles and my feet are so comfy.

Iheartmysmart · 09/08/2024 20:52

I second the Trespass ones. I’ve got them in black and brown and they are so comfortable. I had a pair of Teva’s and wasn’t keen.

I have Teva midforms and they're amazingly comfy.

Just bought my second pair of Teva Verras (originals) after the metal strap hoop things starting degrading on my old ones after 10+ years of use in the sea, campsite showers, walking etc. The Verras have quite thin straps without being uncomfortable at all. I don't like Amazon as a rule but some sizes and colours are very keenly priced on there at the moment as well...

Tea originals or hurricanes. I love mine, lasted years, great hiking and in water and work brilliantly on holiday as you can wear them with a dress too. I'm an absolute convert.

Drogdab · 09/08/2024 21:11

how is sizing in Tevas? I needed to size up in Arizona Love.

Brilliant thanks all, will look at all options. Are the tevas padded inside the straps, it’s hard to tell from photos.

My hurricanes aren't but the straps are comfy and don't rub anywhere.

I have the Teva Women's Terrra Fi Lite , really comfy, can walk miles in them and good arch support.

Mustreadabook · 10/08/2024 11:04

I have the teva tirra. They are great for walking, the front straps are a bit more dainty but also fully adjustable for my wide feet. I’ve had them at least 5 years and they are still perfect. Wish I had got black though! www.teva-eu.com/en/gb/womens-tirra-water-sandals/4266.html?dwvar_4266_color=ARGN

And the straps are padded.

I have two pairs of the original universal. I love them, have walked miles in them and find them very comfortable. Straps aren’t padded but I’ve never found them to rub and they do get softer with wear. My older pair have been through the washing machine a couple of times (they are a light colour, haven’t needed to wash my black ones) and have come out good as new. I’ve had them for three years now, worn regularly and still going strong. They are sold as more every day wear but I’ve done some light hiking and they have been great. They sound ideal for what you describe.

The hurricanes are designed more for hiking so have a grippier sole but I do think they are slightly less versatile as they look like more of a walking sandal. I think either pair would suit your needs though.

EmmyPankhurst · 10/08/2024 20:15

My favourites for city wear are Terra Fi Lite but the colours have been a bit rubbish the last few summers so I've bought Hurricanes.

I usually have at least two pairs of Tea's on the go as I wear them masses in the summer. Very comfy.

Universals fit differently to the Hurricanes - the front protrudes more and I tend to trip on it. I don't like them. The straps also aren't so adjustable. I like the ones where you can adjust the heel strap too.
