Er, it's an everyday cotton dress worn with everyday boots. It's a perfectly wearable everyday outfit. Could be worn to the office, pub, restaurant.

BetsyRegards · 07/08/2024 12:24

Yup - it’s an ordinary dress with boots. Nothing remarkable there, surely?

MonsteraMama · 07/08/2024 12:26

Love this pose. Why wouldn't we want to know what the dress looks like in an extreme A frame power stance?

She's going to need at least two pairs of socks in those huge boots

BarrelOfOtters · 07/08/2024 12:31

It's more that the angle makes the boots look enormous...like giant's boots. I like the power stance, that's a good look.

It's a ridiculous choice for the main picture, it doesn't do either product justice.

And it's a good way of demonstrating how much material is in the skirt

Are we looking at the same photo? 🤣

It's like they're trying to compete with Zara's useless photos.

Aposterhasnoname · 07/08/2024 12:39

I think it’s the angle off the photo in the first pic, makes the boots look ginormous.

I laughed at this while browsing M&S on the app!! She looks ludicrous, enormous boots in comparison to the rest of her, wtf were they thinking! I've noticed other weird poses/perspectives as well. You have to click through to get a reasonable idea of what the clothes look like.

Purplecatshopaholic · 07/08/2024 12:52

First pic is hilarious, makes her boots look enormous. Second pic is silly, albeit in a different way. Wonder if Marks is taking a leaf out of Raey’s book, they always have the model in ridiculous poses too.

BetsyRegards · 07/08/2024 12:54

It’s so interesting to be reminded that other people see things differently!

In general I wouldn’t consider that shop when looking for clothes - but I think they’ve tried with these photos and I applaud them for it.

And I adore most Zara styling (on their website, apart from the more recent faux selfie monstrosities) even though I know most of the actual clothes are frustratingly poor quality.

spiderlight · 07/08/2024 12:54

If anyone ever asks me what the Alice-in-wonderland syndrome I get with my migraines feels like, I shall show them that first photo!

AdviceNeeded2024 · 07/08/2024 12:55

I quite like the dress, HATE the boots. I cannot stand anything western style! The boots drown the model and in that first pic they totally detract from the item they are selling - the dress!!

Floisme · 07/08/2024 13:01

Some silly angles but I like it, and I'm not even into dresses. 100% cotton too. Very annoying that I'd have to buy before I could see it for real and try it on but that's 21st century shopping for you.

IHaveNeverLivedintheCastle · 07/08/2024 13:09

JaneJeffer · 07/08/2024 12:34

And it's a good way of demonstrating how much material is in the skirt

Which in my case shows it's probaby narrower than I'd like for that style of dress, but it's a nice dress.

Honestly, it's a slightly odd angle on the first photo but beyond that I don't get what has caused the hilarity.

It's still miles better than the weird, selfy pouting in a mirror poses some websites use, or the obviously photoshopped exotic locations.

Floisme · 07/08/2024 13:14

Dread to think how Sezane would have styled it.

YYURYYUCICYYUR4ME · 07/08/2024 14:13

I am sure the photographer gets bored and thought they'd go for the Tim Burton approach to posing, very long legs and short bodies!

notwavingbutdrowning1 · 07/08/2024 15:10

I thought, surely there must be a pic of the model just standing there so we can see the dress properly. Instead I found this horror. I mean wtf is she even doing?

notwavingbutdrowning1 · 07/08/2024 15:11

This!

notwavingbutdrowning1 · 07/08/2024 15:13

Aargh, sorry. THIS!

Yes that’s exactly, looks like Zara photos. I hate buying stuff of their website.

Yes.

I don't never look at anything on the selfy in a mirror sites or the fake exotic locations. Sezanne's styling is so irritating I never look at anything on their site either.

She's doing that thing when someone is trying to take your picture and you get all awkward
