Firm hold without feeling sticky/grippy?

Yesterday a hairdresser put something in my hair when it was damp, which gave it some good hold once dry - my usual annoying frizzy, bendy "face-framing" pieces have stayed neatly in place all day.

But it's bloody impossible to get a brush through it, it's all grabby and sticky especially at the ends. Has anyone found anything with a bit of hold without it dragging on a brush?

Really, no recommendations?! Dammit that means relying on Amazon reviews...

No recs on products but surely you're meant to wash that stuff out of your hair before you brush it?

Shed dried it using a brush, how would that work

When you add some products to wet hair and then blow dry, the product kind of dries/sets the hair with the heat and that gives you the firm hold without weighing your hair down. I'm assuming that's what happened to yours too.

If you want to get the same results at home you have to wash the product out before you brush it and then reapply onto damp hair.

(All the above according to hair stylist friend who recommends Hershesons Zhoosh mousse)

(Or to ring your stylist and ask what they used!)
