Wedding guest dress for DD13

Please can you give examples and ideas for what a 13 year old could wear to a wedding? She is tall and slim, wearing size 6/8 womens clothing now. Kids stuff is too young looking but often womens seems a bit mature.

Likely to be a warm wedding, south of England in late August.

Visited primark today (dresses quite thin), New Look (nothing small enough due to the sale being on), H&M (nothing smart enough for a wedding). Holister - did get a short green dress that has shorts built in so this is a maybe.

I was trying to find something a bit puff sleeve and milkmaid style as I thought that might look quite nice on a young teen. I found this at TU which has a nice print but may be a bit too grown up looking.

Does it have to be a dress?

There's lots of tailored shorts-and-a-jacket combos around now, she might appreciate something a bit more grown up that is trendy rather than revealing. You could find a pretty top to wear under the jacket.

Have a look at the lipsy dresses on next (woman's section) I ordered loads for my 13yo to try on at home and we kept her favourite.

ASOS have some lovely dresses, but also check SHEIN if it’s only going to be worn once. I’ve bought some amazing dresses for occasion wear very cheap

My DD wore something similar to this dress from H and M to a wedding last year. She wore it with simple pumps and looked gorgeous. Hers was in a soft green though, looks like they don't have that colour this summer.

Any advice on footwear to go with? Her trainers aren't smart enough so either new ones (I'd rather avoid one-off trainers!) or some sandals perhaps? What's trendy for this age?

I think jelly shoes are back in, sadly (they were shit the first time I think we can all agree!)

Western boots? I know it's a bit 'out there' but if she finds a pair she likes they'll useful for winter. Might be a bit hot in August I guess but I wore mine yesterday.

I'd just get some flat sandals I think. There's some nice ones about or you can buy cheap ones

My daughter found lots of options at Hollister and then found sandals to go with it.
