Dress, shoes, bag, headband colours

Another plea for wedding guest outfit help.

Dress is plain navy, shoes are silver Esska (so not a very silvery silver, more a warm silver). I need a bag and I like those big thick headbands.

Which colours? Absolutely hate matchy matchy and I like throwing in something a bit unexpected (last wedding I wore forest green dress, silver shoes, baby pink bag and was quite pleased with the result). Ideas?

The headband will be close to your face so choose a colour that suits your skin tone.

Burnt orange if you suit warm colours, fuchsia pink if you suit cool tones. Coral or turquoise, Purple or blush pink, your choice. Or keep the brighter colour for your bag and go for a headband is the same shade of silver as your shoes. Someone on here earlier in the year choose a multi-colour jewelled headband that would work well too.

Agreed, need to know the colour of your hair and skin tone to make a call!

Would avoid silver, even if that is the “colour sandwich” theory everyone mentions. (hair and and shoes same colour, the filling of sandwich another colour) Silver is basically a neutral!

I’d say a pop of colour- but will depend on hair and skin. I’m a brunette with blue eyes and so coral or a pink would look good, but a blonde would look great with an orange or even a forest green!

This is super helpful, thank you! Good point about headband being close to face. I have dark hair, pale skin, blue eyes, so all very cool-toned. Maybe a pink headband (assuming I can find such a thing), but then what bag?

how about a cool silver clutch? ASOS/Zara are doing very modern structure clutches- they are like hard kidney bean shapes, they look awesome! Very cult Gaia!
