What lipstick colour? Pistachio dress!

I’m going to a wedding and have found a lovely pistachio maxi dress. I’m not great at lipstick but want to use one, but am stuck on the colour!

I have dark blonde/bit rooty hair, dark eyes, freckles, mid skin tone and a bit tanned

Help!

Definitely coral. If you aren’t confident in a bright lip you can mute it down a bit -mix a coral lipstick with some lip balm or go for a coral lipgloss!

I've never done it I just wear what suits my complexion

Another vote for coral, always looks great with a tan and will go well with pistachio.

I always wear a pink that's pretty similar to my lips. I once read that your perfect nude lipstick is the same shade as your nipples, maybe try that? I don't change my lipstick according to my outfit though.

Never heard the thing about the nipples before. Wearing lipstick the colour of my nipples definitely wouldn't work for me as my nipples are ridiculously pale 🤣

hmmm well I’m in the minority as I don’t think coral is a great shade for a pistachio dress! Too orange-y.

I’m thinking pink, more contrast. Something like Lisa Eldridge’s Love of my Life or if you’re more comfortable wearing a paler pink, Rosy Shell.

An orange tone red would look good, too.

An easier way to test of a lipstick will suit you is to try it on your finger tip, if it looks 'right' then it'll suit your lips.

I agree. Pink is the colour to go with green. Which pink depends on which green (pistachio is too vague) but I am thinking a soft berry pink, brightening up if the green is a bit more vivid.

I agree, pink rather than coral ( which will only look ok if your teeth are brilliant white)

It's a light peachy pink.

Coral might be too dark so I suggested a lighter colour.

Opposite for me. Pink makes my teeth look yellow, coral doesn’t.

Mac mehr would be my go to. Or a browny nude looks lovely with pistachio. But it depends entirely on your skin tones and what suits whether you're cool or warm. Coral wouldn't look great on a cool toned person.
