Can anyone tell me why I still get loads of spots at age 43??

Oily skin? Youthful complexion?

Tnog · 14/04/2008 15:25

I'm 39 and have the complexion of a 13 year old at the moment, despite drinking 2L of water a day and eating lots of fruit and unprocessed food.

I guess it's hormones.

SEnsitive skin. Had spots until my late twenties and tried almost everything. Eventually discovered via a dermologica facialist that all the harsh zip zapping/scrubby costmetics were making it worse. I now treat my skin as really sensitive - dermologica ultra gental cleanser and moisturiser and nothing else. Have never had a problem since. Maybe try less is more.

hormones

Testosterone, specifically.
My skin is a lot better now I am using an Eve Lom facial skin balm. Liz Earle does a similar, cheaper and also popular balm.
I still get occasional Eddystone Lighthouse Spectaculars to go with my volcanic PMS though :9

Ok - I think my skin is more dry than oily and I use a scrub maybe once a week at the most. Cleanse, tone and moisturise daily.

So that leaves dratted hormones. Is there any vitamin that any one knows of that can rebalance thing? I'm so fed up and feel so ugly. I'd look alright for my age if it wasn't for that.
