please help me find a new hairstyle.

my hair is full of split ends and is falling out, this is due partly to medication im on (listed as a side effect) and that my daughter had nits and the comb has wrecked my hair (i had them too).
i have quite long hair and its going to have to be chopped cos its such a mess.

i dont want a posh-style cos my sister has that but i dont know what to have as ive had long hair for years.

without seeing a photo, how about get it cut to on the shoulder length, straight, at a really good hairdresser - they can layer it for movement etc - they can do a deep conditioning treatment which might make it look a bit happier
