Orange hair after stripping. What colour should I use?

Hi all my hair was previously brown all over and I put a red all over for a few months then decided to colour underneath purple and intop dark brown. I'm now looking for something a bit more natural as my hair is quite dry and it's costing abit to upkeep the purple and using 2 colours at a time. I decided to strip it and it stripped so much better than I thought it would. I've used it 3 times and now leaving my hair alone for a little. It's a lovely shade of ginger /orange and I've decided to embrace it for a little but when I come to colour it again what should I use. I was hoping like a light brown more to my natural colour but would the orange show through? I was tempted to bleach bath to a yellow and put a blonde on but last time I had my hair bleached alot of my hair broke and it was awful condition and that was at a hairdressers so I'm a little scared to bleach again but I've not clue what I should put on it. Would semi permanent be better aswell, ive always used permanent but think semi will be better for my hair...please help me. Thankyou

Don't worry you don't need to do anything to your hair, just wear one of these. It will blend in beautifully.

Use an ash based semi, it WILL go darker than you expect at first. Try a shade lighter than you're wanting and be prepared that it will fade out quite quickly. Then after a while chose a permanent colour to go with

Yes!! That would suit my hair brilliantly. Might be able to scare away my nosey neighbours with it too lol they were watching me hang out my washing...must be jealous of my luscious orange wig lol.

Brilliant thankyou I'm definitely going for a semi to begin with. I'll rock my orange for a week give it time to calm down then have a look around for a colour I'm just not sure what could cover it. I know I need something with blue in so that's ash isn't it?

You could try Clairol Light Ash Brown & Dark Ash Blonde - the semi ones, 24 wash, mix them up in their bottles & then mix them together in a bowl, this is what I do to get my hair a light brown. I have to admit, the colour doesn’t last as long as I’d like so I’m going to try something permanent next time. I use to use Garnier Olia Brown but it was quite dark so I may try the light brown, I’ve heard that’s quite an neutral brown. Hth.
