Hair cut/colour tomorrow - what to do

This is me. Hair was naturally dark brown, and still is underneath. I've been highlighting it for about 8 years now, varying light and dark. I am meant to be growing the grey in, but am not really committed/don't feel ready.

You can tell by the texture that it's going grey i.e. all sticky up and wiry.
I don't do much with it; mostly wash and leave it to dry then put it up (for ease and sport). I do sometimes straighten it, which does deal with the wiry nonsense.

A lot of me still wants to be brown, but that's the road to never going grey.

Dunno. Any ideas for something a bit different?

I think you should go mainly brown like the last few inches of your hair here.

You could get some lighter tones added as well so it isn't all one flat colour.

Grey isn't inevitable.

I'm guessing your age is maybe mid-late 50s? Or a tad older?

There are some lovely older women with coloured hair- for instance one who comes to mind if Jane Asher who's kept her auburn hair and she's mid 70s.

You've got lovely thick hair but it may look more bouncy if it had 2 inches off the length.

Can't see your whole face, but you appear to have a high forehead- ever thought about a wispy fringe?

Thank you.
Yes, I will get some length off, but I need to tie it up often so not too much.

There are lights and darks in there, but she leaves most of the grey - the aim being to grow it out.
I'm not sure about colouring it into later life.
Def not going to add a fringe. I have quite a small head.

Depends on what you call later life!

Some of the most older glam friends I know have their hair coloured a kind of light / pale honey shade, rather than being white.

They are in their early 80s.

I am mid 60s and no way ready to go grey. I have around 50% grey but have half a head of lowlights every 4 months (natural colour is dark blonde with quite a lot of red in it.)

I'm avoiding stating my age so people can comment on what they see and not be influenced by my age.

By later life I think I mean colouring when all my hair is grey. "Later life" is a bit twee isn't it!

I'm not particularly interested in being glamorous, I just want to look nice and importantly don't want my hair to look too false for my skin colouring and brows.

Ash blonde might suit you, hard to see much of your skin tone but what I can see looks quite fair so might be a nice colour on you.
