Strapless bra for big boobs?

I know this is probably this is asking the impossible but can anybody recommend a strapless bra is a 38DD that 1) doesn’t feel like armoury around by boobs 2) does a vaguely ok job of holding them up for a couple of hours and a decent-ish shape

I feel your pain! I have a multi-way bra with straps that can be adjusted to be halter neck which I find can help with halter neck tops/dresses. I wish they did those stick-on bras big enough for us bigger-boobed ladies!

These stick on pads from Nood are meant to be really good for all sizes.
Would they work for your dress?
They're pretty pricey though.

This is meant to be a really good, comfortable supportive bra but it only goes up to a 36 E.

Thanks all. This thread has been an eye opener. I’ve ordered some new bras which I can collect tomorrow- once I work out what size I actually am I will take another look at a strapless bra.

Hugely grateful for the input though I’m not writing off the bunny ears just yet 🐰

I got a bravissimo one for 36GG and it honestly did a way better job than I'd expected. It kept them boob shaped without that awful line across the top, but I can't say it was comfy - the band has to be tight to hold that much weight.

I did worry I'd need to sell a kidney to afford it though.
