I have difficult-to-manage, coarse, thick, wavy/curly hair with a sensitive scalp. My hair takes about 15 seconds to re-tangle after I brush it. I'm currently 31 weeks pregnant and it's becoming obvious how much of a nuisance this hair is going to be after I give birth. I don't like wearing my hair in a ponytail/bun because it's uncomfortable from either being heavy and tight on top or I can't lay my head back.
All that being said, I'm a little nervous to cut my hair short because I'm worried I'll be insecure about my flaws not being hidden by big hair, as I've experienced that just about every time I've cut my hair in the past.
I was considering maybe doing a relaxer but the chemicals worry me and I'm not supposed to do it while pregnant. I'm still thinking heavy about a chop to a length that can be brushed and forgotten. I like more alternative style and I'm having a hard time finding something that's aesthetically pleasing while also being easily managed.
Any advice?
