Any 40 something festival goers about?

I've never been to a festival before & am heading to All Points East, with 17yo dd1, next month.

I need outfit suggestions/directions, please! I don't mind colour & a bit of sparkle, but don't want anything ott or to embarrass dd with my choice.

I was considering cargo jeans & a tank top, but wondered what others would wear 🤔

Thanks!

Cargo jeans and a tank top sounds perfect Lucysmam! I saw Zara have nice sequin type things in (or go for statement earrings)

Thanks @Twotimeslime, maybe I'll have a look at Zara & see what they have. I figured I don't need a bag with cargos. When we went to The Killers last month, we just used dd's pockets.

Sequins/ sparkles all the way foe me.
I don't give a shit if I look overdressed/ ott. It's what festivals are for!

We go to rock festivals and i go in shorts and band tshirt/tank top with fishnet or lace tights and a band hoody round my waist coz I'm of an age where I get cold 🤣

Comfortable footwear is a must. Something you can walk and stand in for many hours - i usually wear my DMs.

My top tip though is a bumbag. So.much easier than having a bag flapping round and less likely to lose anything out of pockets. Also easier for having your hands free/carrying or holding drinks. I got a 90s style.retro one as a joke a few years back and it changed my gig going experience for the better.

If I was super organised ..... little head torch for the portaloos. Lighting is not good in them late at night although you might not always want to see tbh ........ but i always forget to pack one

Look on Vinted. There are loads of festival goodies there.

Go shopping with your DD! IME, they push us out of a box instead of keeping us in one.

The one I went to a few weeks ago was long sleeved top, down gillet, anorak, spare jumper, colourful loose trousers, wellies. And I was still freezing!
Must have been the coldest June day on record……….
Usually colourful/sparkly stuff…….not dungarees - they’re funky, but not practical in the temporary toilets!!

I have a mini torch I wear on a lanyard around my neck which is a festival essential. Agree on the bum bag. I have a lovely shish silver one that I wear.
