It's a special occasion, but dress code is smart casual, not fancy. I think peole will probably dress like an office party at a nice venue, I.e. women in party dresses and men in smart jeans and a nice but casual shirt.

I really like this dress and I think I could wear it with flat sandals....?

That dress would look great with gold flat sandals.

the pattern means it’s more of a summer maxi dress vibe, rather than evening gown so will be perfect for smart casual event.

I agree gold would be better, but I have silver and was hoping to get away with those?
