What is/was your skincare regime for early 30s?

I recently asked for alternatives to foundation as I like a look with less coverage and got some great suggestions. Someone mentioned using Vitamin C serum as part of a skincare regime and I realise I really don’t have much of a routine! I’ve got a three year old and an eight month old so I’m lacking on time and sleep and looking at some recent pictures it’s really starting to show 😬 I used to love skincare/hair care/make up before children and that’s all gone by the by and I’m ready to get back on track. My current skincare is very basic:

Morning: wash face with water, eye cream (Avene), moisturise face and neck (Avene Tolerance Hydra 10 Hydrating Cream) and I have Vichy Ideal Soleil Mattifying Touch SPF 50 for days when I know I’ll be in the sun.
Evening: cleanse with Avene Cleansing Foam

My skin is on the dry side (I was told when having a facial last year) so I bought a Juliette Armand Hyaluronic Acid Serum which I tried again recently and came out in a couple of spots so not sure whether to try it again. I think I could do with upgrading my eye cream too as I’m starting to get a few fine lines around them and the area looks thinner. The joys of very little sleep the last few years 🥱

Just wondering what others do for their skincare routine please so I can be inspired as I know I could do more. Would love to know which products you rate too.

my skin is dehydrated rather than dry, but I use a cream cleanser in the morning, a hydrating toner (Aveeno), azelaic acid as I’m prone to redness (the ordinary) and currently the inkey list peptide moisturiser.

evening is a clay cleanser, the same toner, manyo biome ampoule serum, cosrx snail mucin serum and the peptide moisturiser again. Every other day ish I use Paula’s choice bha liquid.

my skin leaned oily for a long time so I can’t comment on the dry skin, but the above is what works for me!

youre likely to get a few spots when you start trying a new ingredient so don’t let it put you off too much.

in your position, I’d probably swap a foaming cleanser for a cream one, introduce the manyo serum and the peptide moisturiser. I’d also use sheet masks every couple of weeks for a bit.

Back in the day when I was thirty, thirty odd years ago, just a basic cleanser, toner, moisturiser once a day. I think at that time used Simple. No fancy hyloronics, or retinols, or serums. No daily SPF. We've all got pretty good skin in my friendship group. It will be interesting to see how much better, or not, the next generation of 60 year olds will be with all the fancy (and expensive) skincare available now.

I'm early 30s.

Morning I put on some hydrating rice toner, sometimes vit c and then I wear Spf 50. I wear Erborian CC cream and lip balm day to day.

Evening I use a Korea cleansing oil, Tretinoin and a hydrating moisturer, I use tallow but obviously not suitable if you're vegan. I like the Ilyoon ceramide cream too.

This works really well for me. I think it's finding out what your skin needs and being consistent with that. I'm dry so a foaming Cleanser would always be a no for me but obviously works well for others.
