Best hairbrush for curly toddler hair

My 2.5 year old has very curly (ringlet) curls that get very knotted over night or after she's been playing all day. I'm still using her newborn comb and it's fine but wondering if there's a better brush that could be used for curly hair? Thanks for recommendations.

You're not supposed to brush curly hair when it's dry. A good detangling brush when it's wet (a tangle teezer or a wet brush) , and then just use a wide tooth comb or your fingers with some detangling spray when it's dry. Plaiting can help prevent knots while she's playing!

We use a Wet Brush (you can get nicely patterned ones and character ones e.g. Disney). We have a spray bottle to wet hair first and then brush through and finish with a tiny bit of some My Little Coco curling custard. I've started teaching little one how to gently scrunch the product into their curls, too.

We don't use a detangling spray at the moment, but My Little Coco, Child's Farm and Only Curls kids products work well for us. I find products are trial and error. Cantu was too heavy for us, but others love it! You may not want to use products at this stage, but we find they help with definition of curls and lessening tangles, and a little goes a long way.

We wash every few days and I always brush the conditioner through during bathtime and leave it in (little one unbothered by this!). That helps make brushing easier the next couple of days, too. (Styling like plaits are not tolerated here, yet.

Oh god my 4 year old has the curliest knottiest hair ! No wet brush / tangle teaser / curl brush helps just a Denman (the grooming brush not paddle or any other)

Spray bottle with water and conditioner in it works better than detangling spray

Work through hair doing the worst bits by hand

Ideally (and if long enough) plait hair overnight - and during day if possible

Best not to brush at all. If you do brush then use a tangle free brush when wet. I would also recommend Only Curls children's products. Umbertogiannini also good. But do make sure you us products specifically designed for curly hair.

I use an Afro comb on my 4 year old’s hair. Only comb when wet and with conditioner or oil in it. I find a silk pillowcase good for reducing the amount of knots and I tie her hair up at night with a soft scrunchie

Tangle teaser, only when wet, ideally only with conditioner in.
