Botox Newbie! Not sure of the results!!

Hello, last week I decided to give Botox a try. I researched my practitioner, she’s an ex nurse and has great reviews, a friend has used her for years.

I had what she referred to as ‘a conservative amount’ in my forehead and 11s as I wanted a natural look. I seem to have responded really quickly to the Botox and by day three I was already seeing results.

It’s now a week since and I’m still on the fence about it despite having a small amount.

The wrinkles are gone on my forehead so the Botox has definitely done its job, however I’m not sure that I like to be quite so restricted and I have an odd heavy feeling which I wouldn’t say is pleasant. It’s adding to an anxiety of people looking at me thinking… she looks weird. If the heavy feeling wasn’t there I could forget about it.

I’ve been in regular contact with the lady who treated me. She seems really happy with the results (she asked for a few videos) however I feel a bit on the fence about it.

Once Botox has reached its full effect (which I believe is now) how long typically until it starts to soften a little? I think once it softens slightly I will really love it.

Is there anything I can do to soften the Botox, or is it just a waiting game?

I do have a microcurrent device but I don’t want to cause any side-effects. I’m on holiday in 3 weeks so hoping I’m feeling good by then!!

Not sure I’d have it again, shame as I wanted to love it!!

It's a waiting game but I'd say you'l also get used to the feeling so it won't be as noticeable to your brain that those muscles won't move.

Then a little bit of movement will come back within a few weeks. It sounds like you might have a completely frozen forehead? If you don't want that in future just say so - she will be able to do that but obviously the movement will mean you won't be wrinkle free.

I know what you mean though that it can make you a bit self conscious.. I've opted to get it much less often (once a year) as now the muscles in my forehead are weaker (from having botox )I don't walk around frowning all the time anyway so I get that subtle result without my face being frozen. Whereas before having it I would frown the entire day!

Sounds like you got a great result! Don't worry it gradually softens, by three months I can see 11s getting prominent again and I book another appointment. You could leave it longer though.

It will settle in a couple of weeks, I do think it’s one of those things where sometimes you will love it and others not. I didn’t like a whole frozen forehead so just get the 11s done now which I prefer.

You need to wait two weeks until it’s fully taken affect and should start to feel normal. Any reputable practitioner will give a free follow-up session after 2 weeks if you have any concerns. It’s a waiting game if you don’t like the results - it should take 2/3 months for it to wear off after the first time.

Thanks! I’m not frozen, there is still some movement but if I did it again I’d defo want less and just go for softer look. I never realised how much I used my eyebrows 🤣 my practitioner will see me at 2 weeks but I’ve already decided I do not want any further Botox, my eyebrows are not uneven and it will just add to my heaviness I’m feeling.

I’ll probably love it once used to it, I think I underestimated the treatment tbh, it certainly does what it says on the tin!!
