Loose Longish sleeve classic t shirt not dropped shoulder

Feels like the holy grail. The only ones I’ve seen I like are either super expensive (for me) or sold out.
i can’t afford hush/ toast prices, especially for a tee but want a basic that is flattering.
regular tees either swamp me and make me look wider because of the dropped shoulder thing (I’m short and dumpy with broad shoulders)
or they make me look wider because of she shorter tee sleeve cutting me off at the widest part of my substantial arms.

recent candid holiday photos just compounded this.

i want some classic basics which i can just throw on with jeans , shorts or skirt without there being a feature, I don’t always want long sleeve or sleeveless and although v necks suit me I don’t want v for everything although will consider v if it meets other requirements.

not too long as I’m short and not too wide as I’m wide but not too fitted as it shows all my lumps and bumps.

im disabled and menopausal so weight loss is incredibly hard.

I just want to dress nicer when im casual

i love this style with either a regular shoulder or raglan sleeve but sold out in my size

I have looked on the weekday site too.
asos has a double pack of them but the sleeves are shorter than the one I linked to

I ordered these recently from Next and am pleased with them fhwt.app.link/tEcVrmlVXKb

You can buy them singly as well.

OldTinHat · 10/07/2024 15:31

I don't think that link works! Go to Next and search for 'multi slouch v-neck t-shirts 5 pack'. You don't have to buy a pack, they're sold on their own for £8.50 in different colours.

Thank you. They’re nice but sleeves too short and will enhance my big arms!

Thank you, they are nice but still dropped shoulder. The pic of the tee off the model also looks different to the picture on, I had looked at these before and some reviews suggested they had changed the design! 🙈

Cos clean cut t shirt would fit the bill (I size up so they're not tight). Think fabric that holds in shape, no drop shoulder. They are £30 but some are in the sale.

I’m sorry I don’t really understand what you mean by the shoulder.

I buy men’s t shirts because the sleeves are much longer, the length is better and the shoulders sit better. Mens S are same as women’s M/L on me. I also need them to be very soft so I have to feel them in real life before buying.

Re: Mens T-shirts, I get them in Penneys or Dunnes so they are very good value . All the best x

There are regular shoulder styles where the sleeve starts at the armpit and at the end of the shoulder and the seam is a straightish line from shoulder to armpit , so a neater shape.

Dropped shoulders are where the sleeve starts further down the arm.
it is a more casual look but seems to be the mainstream style at the moment in most tops, tees, cardies and jumpers.

people say that drop shoulder is most popular because it fits all shapes and sizes of people and is good for online shopping as returns are less likely if it fits all kinds!

The dropped shoulder style really doesn’t suit me but I often end up wearing it because it’s easier for me than shopping around or spending more.

Raglan sleeves are when the shoulder seam starts around the neck area and finishes under the arm so gives a smoother finish and is less boxy / hench for broader shouldered folk. It is my ideal tee shape but harder to find in the sleeve length I like.

is tricky when I’m not a standard shape due to my awkward skeleton and weight gain.

Ooh that’s actually nice, thanks, the sleeve is slimmer than I’d like (I don’t ask for much do I?!) think I will try one though, if I get a bigger size the sleeve will hopefully be wider

they have one in my size but have found several other worthy contenders on the H&M site. Thanks so much https://www2.hm.com/en_gb/productpage.1243461001.html

Have you tried Primark? I'm wearing one from there today and the sleeve starts at the end of my shoulders, it may be dropped on someone less wide though.
